I've remade the Family aspiration from The Sims 2. The original aspiration had 6 levels, but due to limitations the first level was cut and the last became the reward trait. When creating each level I pulled from the name and the original aspiration's wants and lifetime wants. The final product was an aspiration that functions a bit like the Soulmate Aspiration with a focus on family.

The aspiration does give some whims. They are basic things relating to itself, such as Read to a Child, Help a Child or Teen with Homework, Try for Baby, etc.

Shining Example:
*Have a Romantic Interest
*Have First Kiss
*Have a Boyfriend or Girlfriend
*Become an Adult

Role Model:
*Have Sim Get Engaged
*Have Sim Get Married
*Become a Parent
*Interact with Baby (10 times)

Family Rock:
*Teach Things to Toddler (10 times)
*Have a Toddler Reach Level 3 or 5 in a Skill
*Read to a Child for 2 Total Hours
*Help a Child with Homework 3 Times

Patriach/Matriach:
*Have a Total of 10 Children or Grandchildren
*Become Good Friends with 4 Children or Grandchildren
*Give 20 Hugs to Others
*Max a Domestic Still (Cooking, Baking, Gardening, or Parenting)

Town Father/Mother Trait:
With this trait, your Sim will get large boosts in the following skills: Cooking, Baking, Gardening, Parenting, and Knitting. A moderate boost in: Gourmet Cooking, Flower Arranging, Photography, and Fishing. And a small boost for Charisma, Handiness, and Mixology. Your Sim will also get a large boost in the Babysitting career and a moderate boost in Gardener and Culinary.

The Sim's autonomy will also be more focused on family activities and will socialize with younger Sims more often, they also build friendship and romance faster. They also will have a fertility boost, but this requires Outdoor Retreat.

The trait triggers 2 buffs for Elders. The "Long and Happy Life" buff is a Happy buff that occasionally appears and will give a boost in Knitting, Gardening, and Cooking along with a boost in the Babysitting career. The 2nd buff is a Playful buff called "Ah, Kids" which will slow the Fun need decay.

Conflicts:
Since this is not an override, there shouldn't be conflicting with any mods.

This is really great! I love it . . . except most of my sims have their kids while they're YAs. If they have no children in the adult stage, but already have children from when they were YAs, will the condition in Family Rock fill correctly? Thanks!

Thank you so much for the custom aspirations so far. I'm looking forward to your upcoming ones as well. One of the things that bugs me about TS4 has been the aspirations and the narrow pathway they tend to offer, so your conversion of the TS2 aspirations are a welcome addition to my gameplay. Keep up the good work!

I like it, but it seems too simple to complete. It's not that hard to have a kid, and then read to it. I remember a big part of the original aspiration was to have a bunch of kids. Maybe make another version where the sim wants to raise 5 children from infants to young adults? and/or have more than one grandchild? Just a thought ^_^

At least in Sims 4, they didn't have whims to have 10 or 20 children! This is a very good aspiration.

But I noticed one slight problem with the "Long and Happy Life" buff. In the second sentence of the buff, he should be capitalized as He at the beginning of the sentence. I assumed for the female aspect of the Family aspiration, she should be capitalized as She if it isn't fixed.

A minor issue that can be easily fixed if it has to be updated later.

yeah, 10 and 20 kids were waaay too much. But 5 wouldn't be bad.

Hey, loving these aspiration recreations!!
Just a quick suggestion though, I feel like the family aspiration should include a goal to have more than just one kid - maybe like 3 or 4? My family sims in TS2 always wanted way too many (lol) so as others have said, maybe not like 10... but a couple more would seem right to me
Keep them coming!

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm releasing an update to fix it.
