Hi everyone! So with the current release of the game Outlast 2, I decided to go re-watch a lot of gameplays of the first game. For those of you who may not know, Outlast 1 takes place is a really scary mental institution. It got me thinking... why haven't I built this in Sims yet?? So to right his wrong in my life, I did just that, and today I am pleased to present you all with possibly the scariest lot in my collection: The Dreadwich Asylum.

This massive complex had been built in the mid 1900's and was abandoned around the turn of the century. Ever since it closed its doors, the asylum has sat empty, slowly falling into great disrepair. The entry gates have been locked and blocked off, but the main gate is said to have broken and will open. If your Sims enjoy urban exploration, then this will be one heck of a trip!

There are many rooms to explore in this old and rundown complex, ranging from patient cells, offices, therapy rooms, chapel, medical bay, cafeteria, and so much more. In the center of the complex is a small courtyard with a crumbling stone fountain. The fountain is said to be cursed and many patients made disturbing claims of the water turning to blood as a sign a patient was about to die... Screams of torment and agony are still said to echo through the empty halls, footsteps and the squeaks of wheelchairs can be heard but never seen and the smell of death hangs forever in the air.

Are you brave enough to explore this abandoned asylum?

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Merci pour cette idée de vieille maison pleine de mystère. Une question: Pourquoi n'avoir pas mis de sous-sol comme pour les tombeaux avec des pièges? j'aime bien ce concept.

I downloaded a smaller abandoned asylum some years age but this will be much better if I can fit it in that town. It's possible I might also return it to its original condition for one of my scenarios. There are a number of ways that could be used.

Thanks

I'm glad you like it :3. I didn't put any traps because honestly it's just really hard to do for me. I may do it in the future for another lot.

Thank you! This is perfect for my story line I'm working on, about a couple who host a large party and capture all their guests and impregnate all the female sims, while the wife produces babies for all the males and then they kill the prisoner sims and repopulate the town with all the babies they've bred/sired! Many thanks again! :D

I doubt I'll download this, because it's just too creepy and I have no idea where it would fit into my neighborhood, but I wanted to say that you did an extraordinary job! Absolutely beautiful and if it officially gives people (namely me) the willies to even think about stepping foot in that place, I'd say it's a success! I really love all the lots that you put out and it's easy to see how much time and thought you've put into each and every one. Kudos!

Thank you so much! This lot also scares me also because I binge watched paranormal documentaries in the dark while building it LOL. And I'm glad you like the lots I make! Expect plenty more in the future! :3

Okay. I love the aesthetics of this lot, I started a new game and ran my investigator sim around and there's so much I love about it already! (For one this she was poor so the fact that she was able to dumpster dive and get some free items was a nice touch). I LOVED the little details likes scrap being in places and computers not having chairs or sinks missing from counters etc, made it really feel as if it had fallen into disrepair. However the one thing I was unsure of is whether this is a tomb lot at all? Seems like it'd be way more creepy with some blacked out rooms and notes scrawled in places. So... is it?

I'll keep playing it mind I just thought I'd love to make it into a tomb if it's not already.

Bread edges.... are the new white meat.

Ah! It is not a tomb lot actually. I was thinking of making it a tomb but decided against it. You can absolutely make it one if you please!

There's plenty of space to turn it into one :3
