Buyable Antique Typewriter Without Case

Case and pedestal removed from the Antique Typewriter, made buyable. This is a stand-alone base-game compatible decor item, not an appliance or computer.

Includes a custom high-resolution texture plus the original three textures, just in case people prefer those. Original textures were 256x256, the new one is 2048x2048.

I originally considered removing the typing spools, because real type writers have the typing spools beneath the typewriter's cover, not above it, but decided to leave those in place. Also did not modify the texture of the platen return (the handle-thingy on the left). Because of the way the geometry and normal maps are cut up, there are severe edges on the front corners of the typewriter, but they don't look all that bad when viewed in-game.

Like the original object that this typewriter is based on, the backside of the paper does not render.

Does this work off the grid?

It's a decor item, like the original. It doesn't have any work to do. If you for some reason experience problems placing the decor item off the grid, let me know.

Otherwise for decor its great - I'd jus' really love to see it as working as given its mesh is literally from the game I feel like it matches better than other "working typewriter" mods out there

I could create a version of the typewriter that uses the tuning of a computer, but it would be all the tuning, with all the computer's menus, as well as hand placement and moving an invisible mouse around. I'll give it some thought.

I gave it a go, the menus show up but don't work, and off the grid didn't work at all. Bit beyond my competence, I guess.
You have my permission to find a modder who can convert my original typewriter decor item to a computer -- as long as they credit me in the object's description for the mesh and texture.
