This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
could you help me test this?
I've made some props for my Paranormal sim, and I figured some of you might have some use for these too. So here they are
One crystal ball and a set of tarot cards.

The info:

The tarot cards:
Price: 20, Room score: 2, Poly count: 182
The default is the Rieder tarot one, there's one recolor with the Fey tarot (which is beautiful, btw, I want that deck )

The crystal ball:
Price: 200, Room score: 2, Poly count: 482
The base and the ball can be recolored separately.
Default is smudgy white ball with a black base.
Recolours for the base: dark wood, pink swirly and sky blue.
Recolours for the ball: Cloudy grey, Night sky and Clear Crystal (transparent)

Both can be found in Decorative/Sculptures
Both are recolorable
Comes with catalog entries in Dutch, French and German. Everyone else gets English.

*update*: Since several people had problems with the shadows, and because it's such a flat object anyway, I added a version without any shadow. It overwrites the old files. Please tell me if that did the trick!

The legals

You are free to recolour, hack, fiddle with these objects and post your work, provided you give a link to the original mesh in this thread, and tell me all about it.
If, for some reason, you want to post the mesh, ask me!
Please do not put this object in a downloadable lot.
Please remember that this is a beta, download at your own risk.
I do not want to be held responsible for any meanings your sims might read in this . The tarot spread is purely arbitrary, and as far as I know non-existent. At best, it's a mirrored sun-cross. So don't go blaming me for any cursed sims or anything.

Some recolours for the crystal ball

and for the tarot deck

enjoy! All comments, criticism and advice are appreciated.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

I really like the objects you create , this divination set would be great for exemple with the medieval fair playground I use on one of my community center, it would be real neat. Thanks a lot.

Wonderful. These were exactly what I was looking for.
#5 Old 13th Jun 2005 at 5:13 PM
I love these! I was looking for something like this. Thanks At some point, I'll try to hack them to give them some options. If I do, I'll post it with full credit to you, of course. The reason I haven't made a hacked fortune teller yet is because I have trouble with the random code that makes it so you get random messages. I'm not sure I'll be able to get it right, maybe at some point.

The crystal ball works perfectly but I don't know why the tarot cards have a black square thing in the middle.

hmmm, I know they have that in the catalogue, but I don't have that problem ingame...
maybe your graphics card sees things mine doesn't?
I have a pretty crappy graphics card, mind
I'd say its the shadows, but I adapted those...

Well, as a professional tarot reader I can only say these are VERY welcome. In fact, seeing them has made me all nostalgic for Makin' Magic ... I might just have to go over to the old PC and load-up The Sims 1 ...

I have the black square with the tarot deck, too. :^( But both are very nice regardless. It does have to do with the shadows, though . . . with the shadows off, the square goes away.

Youve made so much great stuff for the medieval/magic Sims! I also love your music box and the fire alarm rune. Since I'm no good with this kind of stuff I wanted to ask if you've ever thought of creating phone and or computer alternatives for our Sims? I was thinking something like a magic mirror, or some sort of hack for the crystal ball . . . Have any better ideas?

I've thought about them
several times, even
and then quickly dismissed them in favour of much easier things :D
tv's and phones are hard...

I imagine they are. Any suggestions on how Sims can meet each other or call each other over without phones or computers?
