NEW Neighborhood Object: STONEHENGE

Here are, as far as I know, the very first working NEW neighborhood objects ever created!

They are not "hidden" Maxis objects, but truly custom new objects :D

The "Stonehenge" landmark comes in two flavours: "Entire" (how it looked few millennia ago), and "Ruined" (how it looks nowadays).

You can find both versions in the Neighborhood catalog, "Landmark" section.
Remeber: don't look for them in the lot Buy Mode catalog: they are NH objects...

Unlike many other NH object, Stonehenge can be placed anywhere in the neighborhood, even on roads and lots (as you know, the NH objects are visible in lot view, for Nightlife users).

IMPORTANT: Base-game (no-EP) players please read.
As described by Quaxi in this post, the support for the custom fences, walls, roofs and NH objects is available only with an EP installed. Quaxi describes a workaround, that I've applied to Stonehenge, so that no-EP players can enjoy it, too. But be warned: though my objects have a unique GUID, it might create conflicts with future expansions or custom object. Currently, no existing objects conflict with Stonehenge, but I have to warn you anyway

Therefore, no-EP users should download the "Stonehenge_No-EP.rar" attachment, while EP users (UNI or NL or both) should download the "Stonehenge_UNI-NL.rar" one.
Both rar archives contain both the "Entire" and the "Ruined" versions.

A big "Thank You!" to Boblishman, that has meshed and textured the "Ruined" versions. Both versions are based on an original freeware mesh by

Poly Count: Entire = 5272 facets; Ruined = 2379 facets (the object is quite large, more or less the size of the largest lot... )

Please report any issues and glitches that you might find.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Do you need BOTH Uni and NL in order to use this? I only have NL. I may get Uni later.

Looks awesome though!

I'm very impressed, but not surprised - of course you would be the one to make a totally new neighbourhood object! You're wonderful! And thanks Boblishman for your hard work too! It looks grand :D

Holy Cow! You never cease to amaze me, Numenor. You are always doing things quietly. Thanks for attempting and perfecting the creation of Neighborhood Objects. This was truly a wonderful surprise to see first thing this morning :D

And Bob, this is what you're doing when you're not making kitchen clutter or clocks. LOL What a great team of creators we have on MTS2! :D

to be honest, usually the first things that get deleted in my games are neighbourhood objects....usually they are useless clutter
However, there is always an exception and this is it :D
it is also going to be an exception to my nothing over 2000 polys rule

Stonehenge is pretty close to my heart for a few reasons, not least because i am a pagan

thanks to you and Boblishman for a great object
#23 Old 17th Oct 2005 at 3:22 PM
you always make the coolest things.. as does Boblishman. Thanks to you both

* If you download my sets please note that I usually include a collection file. Please do not pm me that you can not find something from my sets if you have not yet installed the collection file. I do it for a reason. Thanks!
