why the clone tool makes file size to big ? 20mb to 100mb!

I'm new to making CC, just to get that out there first. When I downloaded the new version of CAS Tools that's compatible with Legacy Edition, the folder showed only one file that can be unzipped (S4CASTools.exe), which I unzipped. However, the new unzipped folder that followed has nothing in it. It's just an empty folder called S4CASTools. I have a Mac by the way. What am I doing wrong?

The .exe is not a zip, it's the program itself. However, I'm sorry but this tool runs only on Windows. You might be able to use it with a virtual machine or other method: https://www.howtogeek.com/187359/5-...tware-on-a-mac/

Ahhh I see. Thankfully I do already have my MacBook partitioned with Windows, though I have it with either Windows 7 or 8 (can't remember which at the moment). Thank you for the clarification!

S4CASTools is crash if there's no TS4 installation in Windows.

I want to convert some TS4 clothes to TS3 using this tutorial by VenusPrincess:

First is to open the package file with S4CASTool and then export it as OBJ or TS3 GEOM.

But S4CASTool crashes when I try to open the package file without TS4 installation.

I need to see the error message in order to know where it's failing.

Thanks for this really useful program. Had some great dresses but the arms were oddly spread out, this mod fixed them and let them hang naturally in one click with Arm Positioning function. This made it too easy.

I think I must be doing something wrong, because an item I cloned from a pack has no texture file.

Makeup and some skin textures are now in the new LRLE format and I suspect other textures are going to go the same way. If there's an old texture in the fullbuilds CAS Tools will find and use it but for items added in patches and packs there may not be an old texture. Nothing I can do about it, sorry.

This tool is absolutely amazing, I use it all the time. But it crashed since the big december update Could you please upload an updated version ?? It is so useful and I was converting some TS2 meshes when the update happened... And now, we can't clone CAS parts anymore with the actual version of S4 CAS Tools. Please help !

That option was removed. Why do you want to export as TS3?

But why do you need TS3 format? You can export in MS3D for Milkshape or DAE for Blender, or in OBJ if you're redoing the bone assignments.

Hi, I've found a lot of gorillax3's outfits will crash S4CASTools, for example this outfit: https://gorillax3sims4.blogspot.com...n-tank-top.html

It has both a Top and a Gloves item, and the Gloves item is used to change the color of the tank top. Maybe this is why your tool is throwing exceptions on it, but maybe not.

It happened on many others that I saw, but I was using the AHK script to automate the CAS sorting process by barteke22 so I don't have a complete list at the moment. I only saw the AHK script spamming past the error boxes on several of them, and a lot of the outfits ended up broken since the AHK script ignored the exception.

If you want more examples I can try to find them. (Edit: Here is another.)

Some of them just have the "Can't find mesh" error, but do not throw an exception. Do these not matter or will they end up broken like the above outfit?

CAS Tools is made to work with packages that conform to the EA standard of CASPs that are all recolors of the same item and all use the same meshes, shadow, bump map, and region map. It won't work with a blended package like this. I've been thinking it should be more flexible and will look into it for a future version.

OK, thank you. As for my question? Does "Can't find mesh" = automatically bad or not? That is, can nothing with that warning be safely saved?
