Awesome! This reminds me of the other magazine thing from TS1 Superstar. Now we just need to be able to unsubscribe from on a lot basis.

I had a slight problem with this tonight. The delivery girl put the magazine in the street for some reason. I didn't see what was going on when it was delivered. Maybe the kids were in her way trying to get on the school bus or something. Anyway.. when one of my sims came home from work, the magazine was in the road. And of course, build and buy mode are blanked out when the car is on the lot with the sim active in it. I don't know why.. but he couldn't cross over the magazine to drive into the garage. The magazine was near the driveway. My sim just sat in the car on the street blowing his horn. LOL!! He was due to arrive home from work at 2pm. He sat out there blowing his horn at that magazine until about 6:35pm. Then he finally crossed over it. During that time, I tried to have my sims pick it up and read in.. in order to get it out of the way. But none of the sims could pick it up either. No idea why. Maybe the sim trying to get into the driveway was the reason they couldn't pick it up. But after he finally drove over it and got into the garage... my other sim could finally pick up the magazine.

thanks for this mod is works great, except for when there is a shadow falling on the magazine it becomes invisible. at first i thought the mod was not working untill i turned off shadows and bam there it was, i turned shadows on and off a few times and sure enough the shadows make it dissapear.

zombhunt2004,
I think that's another technical problem of Maxis because I didnt mod the bhavs of magazine I simply called it to appear on paper girl's hand then intructs to put it down. How about trying to buy a magazine from a community then place that magazine in the exact location (same tile) where the magazine (invisible one) is located, then try to turn on/off the shadow and compare them.

happygolucky,
Thanks for the tips, we should always have a lot of space (maybe more than six tiles) in front of our house to avoid placing it on the street. That putting down of magazine is a paper girl's decision, her first priority is on your lot next is the sidewalk then on the street. My instruction is to put it down, and that instruction is a global bhavs that will search an empty space near to her and place down the object. I dont want to modify that global bhavs instruction (put down object) because there are other global bhavs are using this and it will affects the gameplay, so a simple strategy will solve your "slight problem".

Happy Simming and Merry Christmass to All !!!!

this is a nice mod it would be better if you could order it by phone and have it delivered.

I really like this, although so far none of my Sims have picked one up to read, they just go for the newspaper as always. It sounds as if they will pick it up autonomously, but in my game they don't seem to want to! Incidentally, if they do pick them up and take them inside to read, will they stay there forever or disappear when the next issue of the same mag comes out?

good idea, what about a neverending garage sale next door and the neighbors drop some article of clothing off in front of your door every day (excpet sunday). and u can decide to keep it and put it into your inventory or let the maid throw it away? maybe plants? i really really want to be able to put movies in my inventory so i can watch them on tv later... is this possible?

THis is neat, could you make an updated one, something like you have to subscribe and unsuscribe via phone or computer?

Does this work on campus? That is on private property and Greek houses, I know dorms don't get newspaper delivery.

I'm trying to track down another campus problem I have so I don't know if my game is causing this or this is how the mod is made, but I am not getting magazine delivery on campus and the newspaper is hit and miss...sometimes comes, sometimes doesn't.

Running: Sims2, Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Seasons, BV, FT & AL. Patched.
