I can say for sure that this thing appeared in the EP before Pets (OFB, if I remember correctly) and I've seen it quite a bit. I can't vouch for the water tower connection, but I also can't dismiss it, either.

I am not sure about needing anything in your neighborhood for things to appear. I have never used the water tower and the pig shows up, and I have never used the Ancient Ruins and I have seen the UFO swoop and hover over random areas.

I don't usually use any of the neighborhood objects (except for the pig :) So its a mystery to me, but I thought I would add my own experience with it to possibly clarify things. Or confuse things, probably :)

I've worked out where they origanally come from.They show up if you have a water tower in the neighbourhood.But now,there is no need for the water towers! Trust me,I tested it.I moved a water tower around and the pigs flashed on and off the screen.

I think the original association with the water tower might be a Pink Floyd reference. When Floyd were filming the balloon pig flying, you could see the factory tower in the background. Its the factory on the cover of Pink Floyd's "Animals", for foggy memories (as mine often is, lol!), and this concept is just a vague guess on my part. Perhaps the water tower was, at the time, the closest thing to the factory tower EA had? I'm probably waaaay off base, but just had to throw that in.

I do know that, as I said in my other post, you do not need the water tower present in your neighborhood to see it; I have never used the water tower and always see the pig.

It is the water tower that triggers it, if you move it about your neighbourhood without placing it you should catch a glimpse of the piggy at some point.

Still, this is a neat idea for those who don't want the tower but still want the pig!

I've actually seen random pigs flying around my neighborhood ever since I put a hot air balloon object down. o.O

i know what brings the pig if you add a water tower that box on the bottom of it is the flying pig box!!!

Ah, this object is triggered by the water tower. I had one for my 'farm' type thing, it appeared then. I was very amused to see a flying pig floating through my neighbourhood. Ehe. Great upload, thanks for sharing.

If you put the Watertower in the neighborhood it generates the pig. But if you're playing a neighborhood that doesn't need a watertower, then this will be very useful.
