thank you for this I love this hack. It's great to have the magazines delivered to your sims homes, makes it so much easier to increase their interests.

Thanks! It makes much more sense to have reading magazines be fun.

I've made some mods for The Sims 1 -- yes, The Sims ONE :-) -- which you can find at http://corylea.com/Sims1ModsByCorylea.html

There are very few magazines I read for information, so this makes perfect sense. Thank you for such a useful mod!
Always,
Emma

PS: Does that sim actually want to not only kiss the zombie individual, but also woohoo with 5 maids?! Sheesh.

That icon means service people in general, not just maids. We're talking gardener, repairman, fire/policeman, or even the nanny.

Quick question: I have no idea if this is possible, but could this be modified so that a sim will get a lot of fun reading about topics they already have a high interest in, but only low or no (or even negative) fun if they're reading about a topic they don't care about (yet)?

Maybe I'm beeing a pain but, after downloading this, I find that the fun and interest points grow WAY too fast when you read it now. When I asked for fun points was to make the game more realistic, this way it just don't feels right. Can you make the fun points and interest points grow slower? Kinda like reading the paper or doing crosswords, not like woohooing like is set now. THanx for your effort though.

Thanks so much for this. But is it possible to get just the 'read continuously' part? I don't want a large hack, just for my sims to stop putting down the magazine every two seconds

Hooray! Now I've got a method of removing magazines I've finished with without having to mess around with Build Mode.
