I'm sorry but I can't reproduce the problem; but I can't test a real Double Deluxe game, so I can't be sure that is something related to your game version.
Maybe you should get rid of this set and download Maxis version from the Exchange.

Well I have problem with the bed. After one use it becomes unfunctionable - no1 can sleep in the bed. I have to sell it and buy a new one. Moving around with buy mode doesn't help.

I have base-game only. No hacks and stuff. I love this set for my boy-ish gurlz twins, but it's almost impossible to rebuy the bed after every sleep.

Since then there were also some update by the developers, I think, because I think for me it comes with the seasons pack. When I didn't even know downloadable content exist, I had these furniture and I didn't even had GLS! It was in 2009-2010-ish..
