*REQUESTED* Star Trek provisional rank insignia, as seen on "Voyager"

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
While your Starfleet Sims have had rank insignia for quite some time now, your poor Maquis Sims have had to go without (like the Federation signing bonehead treaties with Cardassia wasn't enough). It's time to rectify that, don't you think? So, without further ado, I give you: Starfleet provisional rank insignia.

These are for adults (and young adults if you have University) and elders, and they will appear together with casual and formal wear, as well as with outerwear if you have Seasons. They can also be worn together with other accessories.

As with my other rank insignia, these are primarily supposed to be used together with my body meshes, so they might look odd if you use them together with other meshes - for example, a mesh with a large collar might "swallow" them, while it will look like they're floating in the air together with a mesh with no collar at all. Just so you know that this isn't an error; it's really impossible to make rank insignia that look good with any and all body meshes, so selfish creature that I am, I've made them to look good together with my stuff.

Polygon Counts:
Faces=62, vertices=19

- Tiggerypum, HystericalParoxysm and Dr Pixel, whose excellent tutorials have taught me everything I know about meshing for TS2 in general and accessory meshing in particular

I haven't made any insignia for captain. There are two reasons for this. First, in my opinion, if you're going to be captain, then you really should get with the programme. Second, when Chakotay becomes captain of Voyager in "Before and After", he wears the regular four-pip captain's insignia instead of its Maquis equivalent. To me, this indicates that there aren't any provisional insignia for captain - but if you disagree and want to make captain's insignia of your own, you can of course do so.

Don't forget, if you like my work, hitting the "thanks" button is a quick and painless way of showing it.

Happy simming!

We who are Voyager fans . . . salute you! I have the other pips you made and I love them. Now it's time for Chakotay, B'elanna and the others to get a make over too. Live Long and Prosper!

love your stuff...my little voyager neighborhood is almost complete thanks to you!

I do have one tiny thing to point out. The provisional bar for crewman has a single dark bar instead of none at all.

Here a link so you can see what I mean:http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Crewman

Thanks again!

Faerirose: First of all, glad you like my stuff. Re the insignia for crewman, on another spot on the same site (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Starfleet_ranks), the insignia with a single dark bar is listed as the insignia for non-commissioned officers. (They're playing with our minds!) In other words, time for me to go hunting for a good closeup of a crewman's insignia and see what it looks like in real life. Thanks for pointing it out!

LMAO - everytime someone uses their time and effort to make a Star Trek Mod theres a post pointing out INSIGNIFICANT errors.

Why dont you just thank the guy and move on!

It was a mediocre series at best and its over - move on and get on with the rest of your life.

durant, you're quite right that Trekkers can be extremely hard to please. But I've grown a thick skin by now, so these days I don't take offence when people whip out the Star Trek Encyclopaedia and try to find errors (well, not much, anyway). In this case, though, I think faerierose posted just to be helpful, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's even appreciated, at least on my part.

BTW, Voyager is my favourite series, so be careful with what you say.

nixnivis - It was your post that got the brunt of my frustration and it was not directed entirely at faerierose whatsoever, I had been searching for Sci-Fi props and mods and theres a lot of Star Trek material here most of which I have found really useful, and it was during searching that I discovered from reading comments that there are some real picky fans out there! Made me a little mad, especially as most of the critics had not submitted their own stuff.

As for Voyager I found that a great series myself, especially because of Jerry Ryan :p

durant, sorry if I misinterpreted you, but since you quoted faerirose, to me your post seemed to be targeted at her, and I thought that was a little harsh since she was being nice. Glad to hear I was wrong.

But yes, the Trek fandom eats its young sometimes. The Trekkers here at MTS2 seem to be on a different, more balanced diet, though (most of them, anyway) - thankfully.
