Hi Kasey - thanks for the message!

Well, I have FreeTime (FT) sitting here waiting to be installed. I've waited a little while longer just to see if anyone came back to thread with any bug information. Luckily, that hasn't happened.

So before I install FT, I want to just test to make sure the Bon Voyage (BV) version is doing everything it's supposed to be doing. (ex: making sure all the speed boosts are working, making sure the serious students are getting their fun boost, etc.)
While the BV mod doesn't seem to be breaking anyone's game, I want to make absolutely sure it's doing what I want it to do. Truth be told, I haven't actually played the game or modded in over a year, so I'm trying to get my bearings again.

In any event, the BV testing task will (finally) be attempted and completed tonight. I will then install FreeTime, compare any changes that may have been made between BV and FT and make adjustments to the mod, if necessary. Ideally, I won't have to change a thing.

I know the mod is "In Testing" but I hate putting something up that doesn't work right the first time, so forgive my turtle-like progress.

I'll definitely take my time to make sure it's right. Thanks so much for the message of support and enthusiasm!

Okay - new post for everyone.
I have an updated Bon Voyage version for you today. Please download and replace the file if you are using the version I uploaded before today's date.

I also have a FreeTime version for all you, too.

Feel free to test and use the appropriate files in your games. Definitely let me know they don't seem to be working as they should.

Remember that a normal Sim without any speed boosts will take about 2 hours to finish their homework. So, any student with an A- or above will start getting mini-speed boosts. Usually 15 minutes to an hour will be cut off of their normal homework time. Try to get someone to help them with their homework and it will go even faster...plus they get a slight Fun and Social boost, too.

If you are feeling adventurous, try the FreeTime one in Apartment Life. I won't have that expansion pack for another month or so, so you'll have to wait for the official update, but there really were no changes (as far as I can tell) between BV and FT, so I am hoping it will be the same for AP.

Thanks everyone and enjoy!

Hi JenFlower,

Thanks for this Mod!!! I just ran the HCDU and it found this:

*** POSSIBLE CONFLICT DETECTED ***
File Type: BHAV
Procedure Name: Sub - Do Homework - Increment & Exit?
Group ID: 0x7FF4DCC2
Instance ID: 0x00001021
Packages Containing This Procedure:
\downloads\X-zHacks-FT\ijHomeworkSkillsLikeA_BV.package
\downloads\X-zHacks-FT\Jenflower - homeworksometimes - FREE.package

Is this a REAL conflict? Do I need to choose between mods? Or, will they both work?
Thanks!

Hi - I'm back again to do the final alteration for Sims Apartment Life.
I haven't touched all of this in months so I have to take another few days to catch up on how to do this again.
Okay, I'm not familiar with the Homework Skills mod that seems to be conflicting with mine. The letters "ij" in the beginning makes me think it might be from Inge Jones. She did have a mod at some point that definitely conflicted with mine.
That particular subroutine (Sub - Do Homework - Increment & Exit?) makes the homework go faster, so if her mod is in with mine and loads after mine, it would disable that feature of my mod. The other feature of my mod - the one that gives or doesn't give homework will still work.

So, my guess is that the conflict would disable the "faster" portion of my mod, but not the "sometimes" portion.

Thank you for the update. I'm going to check it all now and make sure it works and upload the official AL release. It sounds like there shouldn't be any changes, so that's good. I am so far gone from the Sims gaming world that it's tough for me to pop back in and upgrade these mods.
I miss my Sims.

The Apartment Life version is up. I checked it out in my game and it seems to be working fine. All speed boosts and mood boosts are working as usual and the homework message appears when it should.

If you see anything happening that shouldn't be happening or vice versa, please let me know.

If everything goes well, this will be my last post for this thread. Thank you all and I apologize for the delay in my updates. I haven't played "The Sims 2" since the Pets expansion pack. I purchased the extra expansion packs mainly to finish this mod...and just in case I would find the time to play again. Alas, that hasn't happened yet.

In any case, thanks for the support everyone. Happy Simming!

What about Mansion and Garden Stuff? For many purposes, that gets treated as another expansion. Will the AL version work with M&G?

I am updating all my mods, searching through the whole glut, updating the ones I have, and finding new stuff too, like this. Just wanted to let you know that I've had the TwoJeffs version for a while now. I didn't know they "borrowed" the idea from you, and I really like the added features yours provides. I"m dl'ing yours right now, and deleting theirs. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much! My Sim children can actually have fun after school now!

I wish this mod had been available in real life when I was a teenager! Now my Sim teens can have a lot more fun than I had!

I'm not sure about realistic. I seem to recall about 3 hours homework every night. I think I would have enjoyed it if I could have done it in 30 minutes!

Thanks Jen.
