Thanks. One of my sims spent days (possibly weeks) just studying Cooking.

I've had this mod in my game for some time when I only had base game and Mansion and Gardens and it worked like a dream. Now that I have the Ultimate collection and I'm seeing "Life Lessons" when I try to get my sim to study any of those skills they touch the book case and then they just jump and stop. Could this mod somehow be affecting that? I only one not both.

It sounds like there is a conflict between this mod and another mod editing similar files affecting the skilling rates. If you have a conflict detection program (like HCDU), you can check for conflicts.

I had this same issue when i downloaded a driving license mod (my sims would get the book from the shelf, sit then the book would immediately disapear and they would be standing doing nothing)... i think there might be a mod conflicting with your sims gaining skil points.
