I work for Marvel and DC... so um, not quite accurate. 4-7... I've never heard of anyone getting into the industry that way, except maybe in the Distribution department. The creative path is pretty different. You usually get there by going to the comics shows like San Diego Comic Con, shmoozing and showing people portfolios. And drinking. Lots of drinking. XD If you want more info about the oh so fun climb, I can blab a bit.

My friend works for Tokyopop Manga and she said this is way inaccurate. Most people don't get jobs through a comic store they get it through their artistic experience.

Tut. The fans are the geeks. We're the professionals. 'You want 22 pages done this weekend? Eurgh. Okay, at least that pays for my recovery holiday." lol

I agree, the geeks don't. But the artists/editors/writers do. Lots. I don't drink, and I end up asking the bartender to fake my drinks so that I don't get pressured. My first con, got hassled into drinking vodka by an editor for Vertigo, a mad Croatian artist, and an Italian colourist. Had a headache for the rest of the con... :D

Very cool! thanks you a lot!!!

(ease up a bit, kids, it's a.....game.....instead of flaming the artist who took the time to do this, give tips on what the steps actually are)

the fans are what made you 'professionals' what you are today. I consider myself a writer AND a fan, by the by.

skye

When in doubt, use clean installer

Since when have Sim careers been realistic? I mean, who becomes a chief of police by first being a security guard, and then goes on to be a super hero? This is fun and applicable to all non-themed communities, and to some themed ones, too! Thanks a lot!

Are there any other careers like this but for manga? I've never much been a fan of Marvel or American comics but I would love for my sims to work for Tokyopop or any other otaku careers?
