I think you did a great job on the landscaping. I like how you used the rock at the edge of the pond. The lot is nicely balanced and very pleasing to the eye.

Nice. But I think it might have looked even better if you had used the end pieces for the log walls. It's a bit more work, but it imparts a more realistic look

perhaps it would have had a more "realistic" look, but it would have been less accurate, the house I grew up in had dowl joints and miter'ed corners. In Barrow warmth takes precedence over realism easier to seal a miter'ed corner. I know the typical "imagine" for a log cabin is a cross halving joint, but honestly most of the cabins I grew up around didn't have them.

Good point. I haven't made it that far north yet. And if it's as desolate as they made it seem in 30 Days of Night, I probably won't. I like... trees. The farthest north I've gotten is downtown Anchorage, mostly because I don't own a car.

LOL! yea we lived about 50 miles outside of barrow in the middle of gods own nowhere, I loved it as a kid, wouldn't catch me dead as an adult, this girl likes heat, movies and books more then once a year! LOL
