No Relationships with Servers

I just wanted an espresso. I didn't want to meet yet another face 18 throwaway NPC. Give me my coffee and keep your toadlike mouth shut.

Three files here:
MTS2_NDR_UNI_NoBaristaRel
Prevents relationship establishment with baristas while buying espresso. For UNI

MTS2_NDR_NL_NoBartendRel
Prevents relationships with Nightlife bartenders. Other bar patrons will still converse with your Sim while seated at the bar.

MTS2_NDR_NL_NoServerRel
Will not meet the host/hostess or waiter/waitress during your dining experience. Interactions with other diners are unaffected.

NPCs can still be interacted with normally while they are not involved in a transaction. So if you absolutely must chat up the occasional face 1 waitress to indulge your smock fetish, go right ahead.

Additional Credits: SimPE keeps this game playable and thanks to MAXIS for inspiring me with their ugly, needy NPCs

Um, no idea. I'm on XP, but I don't see why it would make a difference in any event. Perhaps you should try the tech help boards?

ROLF the waiter is sooo attractive haha great work! This is a miracle. I hate making sims who are natural 'grouches' and when they go out to get 'socalized' (as in greeting everyone in the lot, playing pillow fight, and getting smacked around by a coin purse) and all the waiters do is spill the food on my sims, which means he won't stop complaining until i get him in a shower. ANYWAYS, thank you so, so very much

However, stalker NPCs with generic face templates is the cause of this mod, so I blame the ethical implications on Maxis.
*downloads*

For me it just about the fact that no one makes friends with EVERY PERSON they meet. and the fact that they do flood your relationship bar with useless ppl, many of them looking the same.

Useful mod. Thanks for sharing. My understanding of this mod is that only EAxis NPCs are affected. Am I right? Does this affect OFB employees too? While I don't want my Sims to socialize with ugly EAxis NPCs, I do want them to build relationships with my playables when they dine or have coffee in a playable owned business.

I'd like to know this, too, Neder.

Nope, sorry. Any job-type action that an NPC does is handled by the same process when a playable character does it, so relationships won't build autonomously through normal service.

Playable-specific actions however, like the "show menu" interaction (which NPCs don't do), will result in relationship points.

There was no feasible workaround short of creating an entirely separate set of BHAVs for playables to run.
Of course, selectable Sims on an owned lot have pretty much every other social interaction available to them, which is why I never saw this as too big of a hindrance.

Lol, I love the description. Some creep kept calling my Sim after having a date with his girlfriend at the diner. I finally realized that was the waiter who served them. Who does that? Anyways, thanks.

I really have to wonder why the programmers decided to clog up the memory files with meeting random people. You'd think after an in-game week they'd forget about that guy they ordered a burger from while on vacation.

I think it's to make sure that your Sims can meet people if you're playing a small game with one or only a few families.
Of course, I'm still on my original 'hood from 2004 with over 400 playable Sims in it, so all the NPC-foisting is quite an annoyance. Checking in SimPE, there are hundreds (if not thousands) of SREL- Sim Relationship files- that are between 2 Sims that I've never played. In some cases, I don't even recognize their names.

I love this mod, NPC relationships have bothered me forever. Only one conflict to report, seen below. I'm unsure what effects it could have on MATY's ofbfixes. Your mod seems to work fine, though, since it loads second.

*** POSSIBLE CONFLICT DETECTED ***
File Type: BHAV
Procedure Name: NPC - Server - Job Main
Group ID: 0x7FE2EAAA
Instance ID: 0x00001011
Packages Containing This Procedure:
\downloads\Mods\!More Awesome Than You!\[MATY] Open for Business Fixes.package
\downloads\Mods\Mod the Sims (MTS)\[Neder] No Relationship With Servers.package

If it indeed does cause problems with ofbfixes, is there any possibility of a compatible version?

I would also like to know this. The change in ofbfixes likely be overridden is: "Servers no longer forget about a customer forever if interrupted by something after taking the customer's order: When the server resumes his task, the customer will be delivered his ordered food." which kinda sounds important.

Everything worked perfectly except relationship with host. His icon still pops up in relationship panel after ordering a place.
