Oh, thank you. Of course, dogs are gross, in general. (One of mine likes to eat cat poop from the cats' litterbox. EWWWWWW!) But that doesn't mean that they have to be gross in my game. It's kind of a shame that the game doesn't distinguish between water puddles and pee puddles, but I can let go of the drinking from water puddles if it means they won't drink pee. Thanks for sharing!

Well, in theory, it should be possible to make a mod that would differentiate between pee puddles and normal puddles. It would simply require one to make a copy of normal puddles, then change all the urinating interactions to spawn the copied puddles instead of normal ones.

If someone did that, it would then be possible to change my mod to affect only pee puddles. However, I think that's beyond my current skill level (plus I have a lot of other projects I'm working on right now).

Personally, though, I don't mind the side effect, because it finally gives dogs an advantage over cats. Cats get to clean themselves and use litter boxes (or even the toilet!) but dogs don't get anything except the ability to eat trash (which is useless, since licking puddles does the same thing). But by removing the ability to lick puddles, cats no longer have the ability to survive without someone to feed them (whereas dogs, again, can at least eat trash). So, in addition to removing an annoyance, this mod has the effect of balancing out the advantages cats possess over dogs.

When I installed this, something rather odd happened. The puddles that formed from a broken bathtub kept respawning even after the tub was fixed and the puddle mopped up. I had to use moveobjects on to be able to get rid of them with the delete button.

Requests? Yes! See my journal entry for palette options! Shameless plugging of my Sim sites: (TS2) · TS4

Hmmm...I've tried to replicate the problem, but haven't seen anything like what you describe.

Does the problem go away when you remove the mod? Are you using any other mods that involve puddles? Have you checked for conflicts?

Hey, just popping in to say I had the same problem as Deastrumquodvicis. The puddles kept reappearing in the same place, and with testing cheats enabled they kept throwing errors. Sims that tried mopping the floor got errors, too. I have all expansions up to Mansion & Garden and use plenty of mods, way too much to list here (though I could snap some screenshots of my folder if you want me to), but I don't think I have anything that affected puddles. And yes, the problem did go away once the mod was removed, and doesn't seem to have left behind any problems. I hope that helps a bit

Thank you! Thank you! OMG! I have been playing this game for the better part of 2 years, and I never witnessed a pet licking up their own puddles. Until today, that is.

This morning I noticed my puppy sim doing this was right after a rainstorm, and I thought "What the... no, that must have been a regular puddle... it did just rain after all." Then, a few hours later in-game-time, puppy went outside again during a clear sunny afternoon. Not a moment after he made the puddle, he cleaned it up. GROSS!!!! I immediately shut the game down, and went on a hunt for a mod to stop this disgusting behavior. So, again I say Thank you for creating this!

I had never seen this before, but I know that if I don't download this mod, I'm going to see it all the freaking time from here on out.
I'm putting it in my "No Autonomy Mods" folder.
