That dark wine haircolor reminds me of where I grew up. Lots of ladies dyed their hair that color, very pretty. That redhead in your pic is just the sort my husband goes for, redhead librarian type, ha ha!

Do you save your own Photoshop colors for use with your hair textures, or do you hand adjust the colors each time? Just curious about the process, since I'm not familiar with hair texturing.

Thanks so much for the link.

You're quite welcome. Thanks for the compliments. I have saved folders for each recolour set as templates for my NuRey v3 and v7 sets and they can quite often be used as they are without much editing. It took me quite a few months to find a texture that worked for me, creating them from scratch with brushes/filters/lighting/effects in photoshop (I use version cs8), but once I found a template that worked with most recolours I settled on those and have just improved those textures over time with a few minor updates to the highlights. Also, I got the idea of how to use certain features of PS for recolouring hair by working with pooklet's textures originally. I in no way claim to have the smarts that pooklet and nouk do to create the colour actions required for pooklet recolours, but I have spent a bit of time on each of my own recolours to make it work well before making it a template colour.

Sometimes I also hand adjust the textures on a per-hair basis as some alpha maps require a bit of extra editing (I may have to skew the texture or rotate it depending on the direction of the hair planes). The easiest recolours are the straight copy/paste ones where I can use my textures as they are. I also occasionally combine both my v3 and v7 sets to get a real depth of texture and highlight in one hairstyle and where I have used the v7 set I will name it v7 even if I use v3 textures in it.

Some hair recolours are once-off like my NuRey v3.1 Lite recolours - those were manually recoloured from desaturated textures to be original colours for that particular hair mesh. I did not save templates for those colours so those ones really were one-off and would be difficult to replicate the exact colours again. I dun often do this though because I also like to have matching sets for genetics, so I've tried to stick with the v3 and v7 templates for that reason.

Thanks for the info! I'm a big fan of multiple use textures and meshes made to work with such. Less headache all around. Matching colors on different styles are a good thing. I like sims hair to stay the same color when they put it up!

Very nice retextures. I was anguished about installing hair textures using the binning tool (thinking they would replace Maxis, which I actually don't like from some creators).

Now that it shows up correctly in my BodyShop, I hope to check out more from your hair recolours here.
