Spitballs and Glue: School Doesn't Tank Fun

Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I don't really like kids, and nor do I like teenagers (I'm 20 now! I can say that!). The result of this is that, usually, when my sims come home from school, I send them straight off to work, tend the crops, look after a baby, or some similarly cruel task: that's great, but what's not great is the fact that, by default, school sends their fun motive so low that it takes the best part of the night to fill it up again before they'll even consider chores.

Alright, I know school isn't fun and games, but seriously, EA - it's not that bad! In fact, a sim child going to public school with their fun meter half full will return home with it completely in the red - what, do these children not know how to pass around rude drawings of their teachers in class all day?

I'm amazed that no-one has made a mod like this before, but I've searched and searched and I can't find anything: so here it is.
There are two versions: one (almost) completely cancels out the fun impact of school, so your kiddies will come home with their fun meter unchanged from when they left - this is the one I use. If you happen to view your school years with more rose-tinted glasses, I have also included a version which makes school fun, although the fun increase is still smaller than the default fun decrease. You can see the effect on a child sim studying from 9 'til 3 here:

Much more manageable, I hope.

Compatible with all (or no) EPs, affects both children and teens in both public and private school, install only one version!

This replaces the Fun motive delta for both schools. It will, technically, conflict with any default replacement schools; but I would expect minor if any problems. It won't conflict with, or affect in any way, non-replacement schools. Amongst other things, this means that this mod won't work if you use Inge's schools.

I'm glad you've got it fixed!

Love this mod - it's been in my downloads folder so long I forgot it was there.

This seems useful but I'm so indecisive. I don't know which one to do. I feel like a mod where it's random whether it decreases, stays the same, or increases would be the best for me, but I'm going to have to make a decision!

Old post, but I'll try. Do you remember what the problem was? I've been having the same issue but don't know how to resolve it.

I know it's unlikely that this mod will get updates or anything but I thought it would be cool if the fun gaining varied based on aspiration level when kids/teens leave the lot to school, like this:

* Platinum = The rates of the "Extra Fun" Mod.
* Gold = Fun but not as much as the above.
* Green = "No Change" Mod.
* Red = Negative fun but not as bad as Maxis Default.
* Lower Red = Maxis Default.
