Yup, that's the button. In the neighborhood view it lets you pick the order and which seasons you want where. My mod doesn't care how you line them up, but Season 1 will be the beginning of the year, so if you are in the northern half of the world setting it to Sp/Su/Fa/Wi is off to a good start. With that button you can set each hood to have custom seasons. It's really fun for making the hoods feel more unique.

Thank you again for the mini-tutorial explaining how to change the days that pop-ups appeared on :-) Sadly I managed to go wrong somewhere and I can't figure out where, so if I try to use my edited version in game they cause a glitch, but I've gone back to using your version and I'm thoroughly enjoying having it in my game! :-D

So, I got a twenty pop-up calendar going, cloned it, and started adding daily information for my Medieval Sims. (Thirteen days out of twenty have something unique to say about them. The calendar is great for noting the last day you should plant specific kinds of crops for highest yield.) A couple of people who know I've been banging at the BHAVs have asked me about posting a template version; is that something you'd mind me posting to my blog? I did replace the images with numbers as a temporary measure, but I haven't changed the grid or cover.

Almighty Hat, that sounds fine. A notice for planting crops sounds very useful! I'll grant you permission to post it on your blog as long as you 1) remove the calendar winners photos (which it sounds like you've done) and their names from the catalog credits, 2) leave my name in catalog credits, 3) leave the weekday names, grid, cover and their code as they are, 4) register your own GUID to it. I don't want yours overwriting my original one, 5) send me the link when you've got it up.

Well, one, two, and four are already done. Regarding number three, is it okay to offer a version with Simlish font as well as the font you used? (Both template versions would have the same GUID because they're templates, I just figured while I had Photoshop open, I'd save a step for the strict Maxis-match people.) No sweat if it isn't, I just want to make sure. I'll definitely sling a link your way when I get the post up, though! Thank you so much for permission!

Um..., it's already in simlish, I just picked simlish letters that represented the actual letters very well. Can you show me a picture of what you had in mind?

Ah-- I meant a Simlish font, sorry for the confusion. The font you used doesn't look much like the ones I have, at least-- I have three or four and they're all pretty uniform as far as the characters go, which is probably why yours didn't look familiar to me.

It's a little harder to read, but that's sort of the point.

That's a really nice font, would you mind linking me to it? I have a long range plan to make my own sim font one day and I want to collect all the best characters before doing that.

I'd also rather you didn't change the words much or at all, I worked hard to make sure that the calendar updates to accurately represent the days and seasons that are in the game, and if you can't read them to begin with, what's the point of having them be correct? It particularly useful at Uni where for some reason the days of the week aren't on the UI.

Shoot, let me google, of course I downloaded my fonts before I started keeping an eye on who made what.

Primary suspect, though. This one is based on Comic Sans rather than Copperplate. And I found one I didn't know about! *downloads that* The only two I know of on MTS that are Sims 2 Simlish are this handwritten one and this Medieval one. So it's probably that first one by SimMale, and I clearly need to write that down somewhere so I remember it for credits.

And fair enough! People can add their own Simlish fonts to their personal versions, if they're sticklers for it. (I am, but for my own use I'm doing the Medieval font.) I'll also make sure people know they'll have to move season names and icons around if their 'hood has anything but a spring-summer-fall-winter setup.

Actually, the season names are based on the actual season weather, not the quad setup, so it will stay correct regardless. They will need to set their daily pictures up to reflect their year's setup, but the season stuff will be correct.

Thanks for all the links to those fonts, I have 2 already, and it doesn't look like its any of the ones you linked to. SimMale had one here for a while but deleted it, I think that's the one I was using.

That's good to know, I would've screwed that up-- I didn't notice that in my testerhood. I guess I better go see what the boolprop menu does in a testerhood with no winter.

You're welcome! Those are the ones I usually see around. You can never have too any fonts, no matter what kind.

Hello, Phaenoh! Your holidays calendar is one of the greatest sims things I ever saw. But there're some issues which them.

The pop-up message with the prompt appears very often. I see it every time when I switch back to live mode. It bugs a lot, really. Can you make it appear more rarely (for example, only in View interaction)? If you will fix it I'll be very pleased.

Sorry, running the code at Live Mode is the only way to make it work, otherwise it won't pop up on the correct days at all. If you'd prefer the version without the popups, that's the one without the "-Holidays" in the file name.
