NIfty and useful, but what happens when sims age at midnight? Does midnight aging mean you have more time in the evening to throw them a party before they get upset they had no cake? If there was no party, will they get out of bed at midnight, animate, and make everyone else get out of bed and come cheer at them for aging?

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, yes, and yes. Aging at midnight has both pros and cons, but I think it's worth it, as you can age Sims up early with a click of a button, anyways. It gives an extra six hours to throw a party, basically.

If you have played The Sims 3, it functions the same way.

Since I can age them with a click as you said, those extra hours for party preparations do sound veeeery nice.

An interesting idea. I may use it, although I've gotten used to the default. The variable age is a nice possibility. I do have a gripe, though, with the basic presentation of the age groups, probably due to the age band that the game is aimed at. The "Adults" in Sims 2 are 20-30 somethings, and the "Elders" are geezers with one foot in the grave. The parents of the kids in university? Nowhere to be seen, and I'm 73 and don't limp around groaning like the elders in the game (well most of the time anyway :o) )

So for your realistic mod, does the Elder stage length still vary depending on how well the Sim did in each life state?

The so-called "Realistic" style is a BAD idea for the Sims 2. Why? Because there is a particular glitch in the Sims 2 game that allows one Sim (Teen, Adult, or Elder) to be "stuck" or "freeze" while they hold the baby on its birthday while standing next to a birthday cake. If the realistic category really means 1 day of babyhood, then that means you have to celebrate the birthday on the very same day it's born. Personally, I like my Sims enjoying their baby years for a while, so I can take some cute pictures and deal with babyhood.

Great idea! I like the "birthday at midnight" mod; I like to keep track of when my Sims age (I tend to play challenges with several families) and "wednesday" is never a very clear info in that case. This is great, thank you!

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for!

I was looking at this in SimPE, and was wondering how you changed the time they age? I don't see any references to time besides "process hour". (which is still set at 6pm btw) I only know some basic things so try to keep it simple please .

I agree, Gabby2805. I started playing TS2 a few months ago because I missed the humour and goofiness of those wacky and funny sims. My question is, however: will this mod (or any other lifespan-mods) comflict with longer seasons-mods?

I absolutely love the idea of having TS3 style aging in the game, not to mention aging at midnight instead of the usual 6pm -- but I'd love to alter the days somewhat, with toddlers down to 3 days (I can't handle them longer than that), and teens back to 15. I'm just wondering how I'd go about if I want to accomplish this, considering I'm a total SimPE noob?

Interesting idea, variable aging. What I am hesitant about is whether I want siblings ages to differ and for younger Sims to potentially become "older" than the older siblings... Seems like it's a real possibility with this mod, with a day variation here and another there. (Or am I wrong?) I am pretty purposeful with family planning and want them to stay in the order they were born in... Like, you know, in real life.

I really prefer this longer time span. Before, just as I got to like the family the way it was - someone aged up or died! Thanks.

Can you confirm that the one day baby actually works? I was trying to do that myself in my own aging mod and could not get it to work. The babies wouldn't age at all, and I had to do it manually with the Sim blender.
