@perrysu thank you so much for that valuable piece of info!!! I was struggling trying to find a way to change my sims career branch :D

I followed all of the instructions and Change Career Branch is now on the sims phone but nothing happens when I use it. I also get an error when I try to use the command. Something about the career not being bugged. His career is athletic and I'm trying to change it from bodybuilder to sports.

First I'd like to thank the creator of this Mod!

So...I'm getting the exact same issue that Gneeh described here - My sim is going down the 'Professional Athlete' branch but I actually want them to go down the 'Bodybuilder' branch.

Is there a reason for this?

I installed via The Sims 4 Mod Manager by Raxdiam method.

I tried the phone method but nothing happened after my sim was clicking on his phone.

I entered the command sims.patch_career_branch and I got 'sim does not have a bugged career branch'

Does nothing on my end (version 1.40 of the game). I've tried both the phone option and inputting the cheat command in the console - nothing happens at all except for some phone dialing animation. I do have the mod and scripts .zip directly in the mods folder, no subdirectories.

Hi. Same here, doesn't work anymore. The sim do the animation on the phone, but nothing happens.

EDIT : After a few research, i found this mod : http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=562008.
It gathers the cheat codes of the game, and add the change career branch (with allowed of the author of this mod) with a version which functions correctly.

Could you please update this mod? It is such an essential part of all the career mods.

The career code in the game has changed quite a bit, so it will likely be some time before I'd get to updating this. It may even require a complete rewrite.

I just found this mod after a bit of searching, and was quick to download it. Much to my disappointment, it wasn't working. After checking these comments to see if it was something wrong with the mod itself, or just on my end, I realized others had the exact issue. The selected Sim would complete their animation, pulling out their phone and poking it for a bit before putting it away again, but nothing would result. No pop up, no notification, nothing.
I then attempted to download the above linked mod (leading to me to a "Cheater Mod"), which also did not work (I could not find any of the shown interactions from that mod's screenshots).
I then tried to test the Command only V2 of this mod, ran the sims.change_career_branch command as shown in this mod's description, and it immediately brought up the branch selection popup, resulting in a branch change.
In conclusion, the Command version of Change Career Branch (V2) seems to work perfectly even on version 1.56.52.1020 of the game, while the Phone version (V2) seems to be broken.

I had the same experience. V2 worked just fine.

The command version still works as of this posting, but when you switch to the second branch of your career, you can go through and complete that branch, but it does not unlock any of the rewards. For instance, I did the tech guru on the start up branch first, got all the reward items for that branch. When I hit 10, I switched to the e-sport gamer branch. I was able to take that branch to level 10, but I did not get the poster, the computer or the game rig for level 10.

Anyone know of any way, or cheat to just unlock specific career reward items without using the cheat to unlock all of them?

You can do this the regular way, or you can put in the cheat. This already exists in the game.
