I like this idea! I've generally removed trees from lots where I have people ride horses, but this makes it so I can use them again. :)

If using the default set will this change the trees already on lots or will they have to be removed and re-added?

Yes, they should replace the old ones without replanting.

This is one of those things I thought I didn't need until I saw it. Thanks for the mod.

Also would you please share a link to the Tumblr post your referencing? I'd love to see the other plants you mentioned.

Hey thank you for your kind words and interest. I planned to release the plants on mts in a big pack, when I´ve made more. But you can download them individually here

This is no problem - Just recommend the tree you want to have changed and I´ll do it. It´s not a big deal

The blackgum tree! I love the rich dark green and my walkable forests would look so much better
And the slippery elm, but I don't know if that one is from a store set

English is my second language. Please don't be mean about my mistakes :)

This is so amazing of you. <3 I was wondering, how easy would it be to "tip" the fir trees or just make some with more sparse foliage? The ones where I live often lean any which-way and the uniformity of all the trees in the game always looked so unrealistic. I'd like to have some with character to add in and break it up. Otherwise the fir tree is a great match for look, size and color.

I don't mod, but can sculpt, mesh and texture in ZBrush. If you need a textured obj for a cool Sims 3 project, I might be up to such requests. You are welcome to view my art @: podcreature.com

Hey the "tipping" itsself is quite easy, the problem is that a somehow unsymmetric tree looks weird when you zoom out, cause the billboards/low LOD pictures can not show that in a good way. I'm quite sure that's the reason why EA just makes boring trees. You can see that problem when you download my forest pines . However, I have tweaked my settings , so I dont have to see billboards anymore, but thats an option for better computers.
I already thought of something similar - a "tree diversity" set. But it might take a bit of time, Im a bit busy at the moment.

I see! (Saw your tree project update on tumblr and remembered I'd left a comment here, lol.) Thanks for answering my question! That's good news overall, my computer is still a decent machine, I think. Guess I'll have to test that workaround, but if I had to chose between pretty neighborhood or more realistic ground-level views, I guess I'd take the close-up shots. I'm so excited that you've already been messing around with this concept, and I can certainly be patient. I'm thrilled that there will be more trees for CAW, but I know all about being busy. ...Oh, I just had a thought.. what if the tipped trees are packed in tight? Would it be less easy to notice the graphical issue? Again with the observations, but I noticed that trees where I live tend to grow straight and full of branches all the way to the ground when standing in the open, but in older wood areas is where they start leaning. Maybe as they grew they did it to reach for light around their neighbors. I like clumping the trees when placing them in my worlds anyway.

I prefer your "Higher trees" mod because it looks more realistic. It just looks a little odd when you see a Sim walking under a short tree. XD. Also, what world is that? It looks very detailed and one of the most detailed worlds I've ever seen. Did you make it? If you don't mind, could you tell me the name?

In case you are willing to make more, can you also do Ambitions trees? I think they are called Banyans (the bayou trees in twin brooks) and the Birch. Thanks, I loved this so much.
