Heya, today I come to you with a career loosely adapted from the classic adventure book Around the World in 80 Days written by Jules Verne in 1873. I’ve done basic research and used what knowledge I have from reading the book/ watching the films. If you have never heard of it, here’s the wiki link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aroun..._in_Eighty_Days

I’ve submitted this career for August’s theme: All About Men as it revolves around a male character; Phileas Fogg.
Of course it doesn’t mean that any other gendered Sims cannot have this career, they are more than welcome to!
For that reason I’ve tried to keep all levels, chance cards etc non-binary.
The only exception is level 10 as Mr Fogg does fall in love/marry Aouda.

Thanks to Loki Beaker from StrangeTown for trying out this career!

Only disappointing thing about this career is that your Sims won’t be in those gorgeous lands! It’s a shame you can’t go to work with your Sims in TS2 otherwise I would have created a World or Locations to go along with the itinerary/levels.

Levels 2-9 have chance cards written (Detailed):

Feedback would be incredibly welcome; especially if you know the story inside out.

Awesome! Thanks! I play a medieval style game but even this might come in handy. =) Around the World in 80 Days is a classic and if you have not read it, do so! The movies are great too, but books are always better in my opinion.

Thanks, I look forward to downloading & playing it later today! The husband & I just watched the movie last night on Netflix. Loved the painted elephant in India, you can see her owner/trainer really loved her & cared for her. And I would have loved to visit old San Francisco in the 1870s, it looks like it was a really fun place.

Very creative, thanks. I must admit I haven’t read the book, yet, only watched the films from 56 and 04 and a version with Mickey Mouse as Phileas. Can’t wait to try the career and discover the nineteenth century.
