Hi everyone!
You might know of marka93's Beginning Hood series where you could play the ancestors from the start.
The Beginning Hoods have also been converted into Shopping District subhoods, available here
Now, we're here to present you the third edition of the Beginning Hood Series!

The Beginning Hoods now also come in semi-stealth hood templates! But what are semi-stealth hoods? Let us explain that...
Systematically, they are nothing but normal Shopping District subhoods... however they do not contain any lots or other neighborhood objects. The subhoods just have some families in the Family Bin, just like the Stealth Hoods. The only difference is that these subhoods don't get automatically added to neighborhoods upon loading, of course!
What do we mean about "Separated Family Series".

If you want to add these semi-Stealth Hoods to your neighborhood, you have to do so manually.
So... we came up with the idea of converting the Beginning Hoods into similar neighborhoods, where you would just add the subhood to get the sims and delete the subhood afterwards.
BUT, we also decided to separate the families, so you can fully customize your OWN Beginning Hood to your liking!

Ever wanted to have the Capp's ancestors mixed with the Goth's? Now, you can do that!
Besides this, the Beginning Hoods are all the same as you already know... well.. maybe the "Beginning of Downtown" series is new.. but other than it being separated, it's the same thing.

How to Install
These neighborhoods don't go into the Neighborhoods folder as usual.
Place them into your NeighborhoodTemplate folder inside your install location instead..

By default, it's Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, it's: Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

You'll need Mootilda's Fix Subhood Selection mod in order to use this set.

How to Use
Again, these subhoods are no real 'hoods, they only contain the corresponding bin families in it but nothing more.
The idea is to add the subhood as usual and delete it afterwards, so you'd just get the bin families. So this is a similar approach to EA's stealth hoods.

In the subhood section, you'll see something like this. (The initials of the neighborhood + family name in brackets + family album picture)
Here we see the subhood of the Summerdream family.

Further Information
42 subhoods!
No townies/NPCs included in the subhoods... only the ancestor sims! (Have a look in the comments to find out how to play the challenge)
No CC other than "Mootilda's Fix Subhood Selection" mod are required for these 'hoods.
You'll need OFB expansion pack for this to work!

(I'm a stickler for completeness...)

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Yes there is something wrong and I will let @Jawusa know about it.

I downloaded it and all other but for the Roth's show up.
I looked and could not see what the problem was.

I like the idea of having the subhoods as stealth, but not having 42 of them. Any plans of making stealth versions that includes all familes of each particular hood?

...I hate to be a bother, but I've found another problem -- this time with the Specter file... The only sims in the file are Peponi and Lerato Muenda and Zog and Hecate Nigmos -- no sign of the many husbands of Olive's!!!
...
any chance of an update?
...
thanks a bunch!

@Jawusa Do you still have the templates for this because the husbands are missing from the Specter hood.

one question. Why these sims are so different than these in family trees? I understand they have no data and stuff but why made them so different?

They still somehow look different than in original neighborhoods and sims wiki pics.
Nevermind that. I wanted to say that veronaville families don't have descriptions (or at least Monty ones)

Although they might not look like as the originals, we tried to give our best to recreate those deleted sims as close as possible.

Well if they are recreations then shouldn't the description that says "These Sims have the original DNA, original Genetics and original looks. " be changed? Since they don't have accurate looks

#42 Old 4th Apr 2020 at 2:20 PM
some of these sims I could believe are best tries to recreate but some just look far from what we see on wiki or in family trees.
I don't say they look bad, some look better than original but that's not really it :/

it is impossible to extract their look from there. You even said yourself you made them using 'resurrecting sims with no character data' method which means making clone.

I understand sims with broken faces, your interpretations of their looks are creative. But other sims that don't have broken faces are kinda surprisingly different.
I don't mean to be mean or anything. I really like your works, but advertising it as accurate feels not right. Here are few examples (was too lazy to give them same clothes but it's face that matters the most anyway)
They are only from pleasantview but by looking at screenshots I see that strangetown and veronaville have similar issues. Other hoods aren't that bad because most/all ancestors in them have data.

Your pic is not close to what they look like in my Sims 2 game. (I no longer have Sims 2 installed) but many other players have them grow up to look very close to the Sims 2 Wikia. https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sims_2
The stub file that was left in the game has the original DNA, looks and genetics. This is all that is left for the dead and deleted sims and all I added was what is need to make them alive again and playable.

Make a sims then delete that sim and then make a sim close to him and extract the data and replace what was deleted like I did and you will have that sim back with his original DNA, looks and genetics.
Then you extract this fixed sim and clone him to a new game and you have your sim back complete and playable with his original DNA, looks and genetics. (Until you do this you will never understand.)

I can not make them look like sims that was built in a Sims 1 game engine look like a sims 2 game engine sim and keep there original DNA, looks and genetics in Sims 2.

Just forget it you will never understand.

Enjoy your game your way and I will enjoy my game my way.
Have fun and goodbye.

I am not sure from where you have this information but Pleasantview was not made during the "alpha stages" of Sims 2. It was made close to release, Around the same time Riverside was made. It was made on the same engine that the Retail version of Sims 2 is with minor differences such as different portrait poses.

The sims don't have any of their DNA in their sim files actually, and the only DNA they have is actually left in the neighborhood file thing where only their Hair Colour, Eye Colour and sometimes Zodiac and Personality are listed. I followed what you did to fix Nighat Caliente and used Bella Goth as a base. Nighat was ressurectable, but she was a clone of Bella Goth.

The method you used does not give the original looks they have in their portraits by EA. If it was that simple to just ressurect those sims, why didn't for example the user Carrit who made the Completely Ressurectable Base Game Neighborhoods use that method? Cause it does not give accurate looks.

What was said in the description of Beginning of Pleasantview "These Sims have the original DNA, original Genetics and original looks." is completely wrong. Once you do what you said with completely different looking sims (e.g. Victor Goth, Les Pleasant) you will see that Les Pleasant would be a total copy of Victor Goth.

Just forget it, you will never understand.
