I detect a bit of sarcasm there but the importance is the freedom to choose. Perhaps for a particular gamesave someone doesn't want to worry whether their children sim turns into a responsible adult or a crude, irresponsible one. At least it's there if they want it

This mod is close to what I have in mind after playing a family in one session. One thing that bothered me the most about the character values are the interactions influencing the values. I was playing a rebellious teen who swore a lot, didn't do her homework and stayed out past her curfew. But some of the interactions her parents did with her suddenly bumped her values to the good side which annoyed me. I have a rebellious teen on good behavior.... This makes no sense.

I am hoping you could do a mod that lessen the amount of influence on the interactions to encourage children to be good (or bad) so their character values don't swing back and forth like pendulums.

One other thing that bothered me about Parenthood is that the parents don't react to their kids staying out late and coming home after curfew when they are awake and see them come home. In Sims 2, parents saw their kids attempt to sneak into their houses and yelled at them. They got grounded. This should have happened in Parenthood. Seems lackluster without realistic responses to children's misbehavior.

I have the the opposite problem. My good teen started cussing for no reason and she does it all the time. No one around her ever reacts so it's kind of like what's the point? I also wish that there was something to stop their values from swinging like pendulums. It's quite ridiculous and unnecessary. I wish TS4 had some of the actions/reactions of TS2. There should be consequences for your teens bad behavior. Something like: First getting yelled at. Then grounded. Then summer scholl and finally getting shipped off to Juvenile detention.

I've noticed that in the game it is so very hard to get all the bars to red, some a lot harder than others and so many things will undo what you've done. EA but way too much "grind" into it but not a good grind. It feels like a job and that's when the game fails to be a game in my book.
