Googled it for us (because I too was curious)

In 1865, William Booth, an ordained Methodist minister, aided by his wife Catherine, formed an evangelical group dedicated to preaching among the “unchurched” people living in the midst of appalling poverty in London’s East End. Booth’s ministry recognized the interdependence of material, emotional and spiritual needs. In addition to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Booth became involved in the feeding and shelter of the hungry and homeless and in rehabilitation of alcoholics.

This lot is a terrific rendition of slum living. Love it... gotta have it... inspired to turn my game on because of it. LOL Thanks Numenor!

Default Great dorm!
Thanks for this! It looks so good and mr. Poorman is such a great idea that it really makes me sad that I'm separated from my sims untill naxt May
Does anyone have updated info on mr Poorman, tho? Is he reset after all the students graduate? Is he going to die if I keep playing the dorm for generations and generations of sudents without ever leaving the dorm empty of students?

I once had that problem that the game didn't inform about the start of the lectures but I can't remember how I fixed it. It got fixed, that I remember.

Anyway, enjoy your sims, everyone

Mr. Poorman won't be reset after all the students have graduated: he will stay in the lot, as playable sim. Eventually, Mr. Poorman will die, but not very soon: his adult life stage is set to 99 sim-days (if I remember well), after which he will grow up to elder, and then finally die

I have a question about dormies. Are they spawned by the entry of a new character on a lot, or by a new student? ie: if I have several generations of students studying at the salvo hostel, will they have to fight off current dormies for space, or will the lot become empty of them once the last playable student leaves?

I love this lot to bits, had to make a few changes to fit it in with my Victorian Era neighbourhood, but not as many as the authentic era lots I downloaded! I can see a lot of potential for this lot. :D

Every new playable student you add to a dorm will force an NPC student to be automatically evicted. Of course, you can't exceed the max number of rooms available in the lot (in this case, 4: the room with two doors counts for two).

That's about what I thought. Of course, it never hurts to double-check. :D

I've been playing your lot. I've had it since you first posted it I think. I had forgotten where it came from --someone over on MATY remembered it was yours. And I'm very glad because I want to know things!

It wouldn't load and crashed the game. I had to move the old guy (his name is Sorry in my game) to the bin and doze the lot--but I had the same lot without Sorry next door so I put him in one of those. I figured it crashed because he's not a student and it was a dorm. Have you or anyone else that dled this had that trouble?

He went to a pet store in Uni last night and bought a poodle (Fluffy--perfect for him right? )

Am I right or wrong here: we're not supposed to be able to 1) place occupied lots in Uni--I figure this one got placed because it was classified as a dorm. and 2) not supposed to have real jobs--which he has and I assume you gave it to him. Car pool doesn't come and no warnings are given so I watch the clock and he drives off to work ok, returns, gets paid, promoted. I even get chance cards. and 3) buy dogs and/or cats--which was possible because....he's not a student? you think there's coding in the student character file that stops the purchase of pets? OR I used a pet bin made by k8--perhaps it is what made it possible?

So what I want to know is: how did you make him? In a regular hood, made a res lot, moved him in got him a job, changed the res to dorm, packaged him up and tada he's in my uni with poodle--is that how? Did you have to make any other changes other than the age? Think my game is going to explode because of this?

This lot is great, especially with No Uni Protect. Maybe I'll actually start sending more of my sims to university, now.

There is an issue with Mr. Poorman, though. He has a corrupted memory (Met §Subject). This was easily fixed with Pescado's Lot Debugger, fortunately.
