This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

If you've ever tried to place a curtain on arches or inside open windows, you know how frustrating it can be to get a good looking fit inside and out. Breezy Arches and Open Windows Curtains are the answer. These lightweight curtains fit most open windows and arches, whether narrow or wide, curved or straight-edged. The secret is in the unique material which allows them to slip easily inside the window frame for that custom fit while at the same time allowing Sims to pass through them freely.

Breezy Arches and Open Window Curtains come in five solid colors, one multi-color version, and one lace curtain. The panels can be set to different heights and positions, limited only by the height of the wall the arch or window they are set in. Different color and patterned panels can also be layered to create new, decorative combinations. No cheats are required to place the curtains or to layer them.

Now, we're talking about open windows and arches, and what is more important to an open window or arch than letting in fresh air? Unlike those stiff and starched base game curtains, Breezy Arches and Open Windows Curtains are guaranteed to let in fresh air. Don't believe me? Just set them in place and watch them gently sway. (See the short video below.)
Can anything be more relaxing to than watching curtains shifting in a breeze?
You might just be tempted to draw up a comfy chair for yourself.

Instructions on how to create layered panels are in the pictures above. It is important for one of the panels to be inserted from the back of the arch or open window and the other to be inserted from the front. The way a panel is inserted can affect the brightness of its hue. Experiment to get the best effect.

Breezy Arches and Open Window Curtains will work with many closed windows. With closed windows they will appear between the glass panes. Because of the glass panes, once placed the panels cannot be re-positioned. To adjust their position you will need to remove them first and then replace them. To remove the curtains from a closed window, delete the window and wall behind it. The curtain will be deleted too.
Because with a closed window the curtains are under the glass, and the glass is generally not clear, colors may be altered and the animation may be difficult to see.

Breezy Arches and Open Window Curtains are found in Decorative in the Curtain section of Show All. To find them quickly type in Breezy Arches.
Their price is: 20 Simoleons

Are the dark columns of color from the wavy, moving texture of the curtain or from the actual color map used on the mesh?

I'm guessing by dark columns you mean the vertical, shaded areas on the curtain. The are from the color map or texture. The curtain's animation is side to side.

Castles are drafty places. This should work perfectly for mine! Also for beach houses, if EA gave us more beach property, but who knows, could be in the wind? But, question? If my sim can walk through will other sims and vampires walk through these as well? Thank you so much!
