I downloaded them and the mesh required for them, but they won't appear in my game! Can someone please help me get them to load?

I put them in my game to see if they would show up, and they did. So there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the files.

There's a great FAQ about getting custom content to work:

I hope you can get the bows to work. Are you having trouble with any other custom content?

These would look super cute on some of my Sims - they look great in CAS and work as intended there, too. However, once on any lot, the bows turn into blue-flashing, static... things...
This happens to me even on a fresh, unmodded AnyGame. Mesh is installed and all four recolours. Got a clue why this could be happening?

EDIT (18/12/2021): Update. If I go to a mirror to change my Sim's appearance, unselect the bow and select it again, it suddenly works just fine. It still won't work if I straightaway give it to a character in CAS.
