I have the same problem as ATS Sandy. This mod seems to conflict with installing sims3pack files. It starts the game up instead of installing the file. Shame because the mod is useful, as I really only play one family on TS3 so auto-loading that save makes it quicker. Makes me feel like I'm speedrunning.

I use Nraas Saver, and with this mod names of new savegames completely different. Maybe it's part of '"Save as" problem.

Like Woolysmurf, I have also that "Save as" issue, only for the first time I save in a game session, then, the "Save as" option is back.

I have also another issue: I can't install any .sim3pack through the Launcher anymore, because it launches the game instead of installing. I have to remove the mod to install the sims3packs.

This said, even with these small issues, I love your mod!

You can cancel it by clicking the cancel button. And I think contents can be successfully installed/uninstalled if you let your save load. I managed to uninstall some contents while my save was loading.
To the creator: However this is still an issue.

EDIT: Does it only happen when the savegame is automatically loaded?

As far as I know, when you load a new game you can't use 'Save As' because the game already uses it when you save your game for the first time. I assume that the game considers saves as new games if they are automatically loaded. Your mod forces to use 'Save As', however, the game will be saved over the old one.

This exactly! Whenever I click "save" and get to the "save as" mode, even though I give my save game a totally new name it saves over my latest game and it's very bothersome.

Hello! I am having to say the same issue here too. maybe give it a 60 seconds countdown should fix the issue so we can have enough time to cancel. 10 seconds is just too fast for someone to react.

This is how it worked for me:
Used the mod to auto-load an existing NRaas created numbered save.
There was no save-as button, however, the save button acted like it was the first save, and asked me for a filename.
Upon saving with the new inputted filename (same as my NRaas saves), then the save-as button reappeared.

The problem lies in that each time you load the game, it thinks that it's the first time and there's no save-as, as it thinks there's no other save files yet, and the name gets reset to default along with it.

I love this mod! It's great to be able to walk away for coffee and come back just to play the game - no more staring at the loading screen just to select the latest save and get the second part of loading begin.

That said, I do agree with @Workman above, an "instant" version of the loading time would be great, anything between 0-5 seconds ideally. For regular gameplay saves that have a lot of CC, the 15 sec is unnoticeable because I'm away from the computer but for modding gameplay saves, a shorter loading time would be darling.

Thank you so much for sharing your work with us! Really appreciated.

Fixed version
Hello there

I also enjoy this mod and I made new version myself. A mod for the mod.
All bugs from the previous comments should be solved here (At least I hope so). In addition, dialog window looks a little different, message text can be translated into other languages via STBLs (English and Russian are already inside) and most importantly, the seconds countdown is now tunable value in the internal xml (available range from 1 to 600, default is 10 secs).

Tip: if you are using the "smooth patch" I recommend calculate how long your PC loads main menu then add countdown time and set delay to this value (e.g. 150000), because the timer in this mod is tick-based and will run much faster than usual.

Update: Fixed a bug when mod tries to load an incompatible or corrupted save.

Hey Knight,
you could consider to post this patch as a mod of your own, with clearly linking to the original.
Just saying, cause this way it wouldn't drown in the comments and much more simmers could enjoy your patch
Thanks a lot!

The issue with the Smooth Patch is exactly why I came here; good thing I read the comments before tinkering myself! Thank you
As someone else already pointed out, have you considered making a seperate mod page so that your post will not get lost in the comments?

Yesssss! You're so awesome for doing this. Thanks!

Question - how does one go about accessing the 'internal' .xml file?

Hi!

You need to open the package file via S3PE, find the "QuackGames.AutomaticLoading" resource with the _XML format (look at the "tag" column), right click on it, select "Notepad", change the "10" value to what you want and save your changes.

Guys who wrote to me earlier - sorry, I didn't get notifications about this. Thanks for the idea, but I don't feel comfortable to publish an updated mod in my own name.

Hi, @Knight !

How are you doing? I hope you're okay.

Today is a very sad day for me... It's been a while since I've been online to see TS3 stuff and today I decided to look for some mods.

At TSA (The Sims Asylum) I learned that TFM passed away in November 2023. Her son is taking care of TSA.

Here at MTS I found out, through a comment about another mod by @QuakerGames (Victor Andrade), that he passed away in 2023 (I don't know the month of his death).

I'm feeling nostalgic lately and it really shook me up.

I believe that Victor Andrade (QuakerGames) would be proud that you updated the mod that he developed with so much care.
I don't know how it works, but I think he would be grateful to be remembered by his creations.

A big hug

Be kind, be thankful, be nice. It doesn't cost money, at all; only kindness is needed.

Hi, @Sonynh0.

I'm doing fine, and hope you are too.

I've heard about TFM, but I only found out about Victor now. Every modder is creative in their own way and when you see news like this it's... very sad.

In 2021, I really wanted to fix the "Save as" problem that appeared after installing this mod, and that was the first time I tried changing the code. Then I read the comments here and made a few more minor changes, and that's how the fixed version was created. I still use it in my game.

Thanks for telling about it. Hugs.

Hi, @Knight !

I'm very grateful for your work in fixing some issues of several mods that comes out when in-game.
I don't remember how much fixing from you I've installed in my game, because it's several of them.
So, thank you very much for all you do for us!
Have a nice and warm sunday!
