The lattice is actually just foundation, made wall-height.

No, it's just the lattice foundation that comes with the game.

You have to build a 12-click hill, with foundation on top, to get the foundation up to normal wall height. Then you can build it alongside walls.
To make gaps in the foundation, place wall sections anywhere you don't want the foundation to fill in, then remove the walls after the foundation is built to your liking. Takes a bit of trial and error.

Aaahhh...just like in any small town or hood anywhere in the world!

What a gorgeous little building! I can just imagine coming up to it on the highway on a long, hot drive looking for snacks and a place to use the facilities. The lattice looks so gorgeous, the perfect place to catch some shade. Thank you so much for taking the time to clean it up and repost it!
