These have been throwing up exceptions upon click interaction since the last update, but otherwise seem to still work.

Sorry, I do not seem to be able to replicate that problem on game version 1.71.86.1020, using "better exceptions".
Can you get me the exceptions you get (by private message)?
Else: perhaps another mod you are running may be conflicting in some way, but I wouldn't know how other than a coincidental same "file name".

It appears to be interacting with TwistedMexi's TOOL mod in some fashion, if I am reading the exception correctly:

I was able to consistently produce this exception exactly once after an instance of your modded Batuu generator was added and first interacted with. After that, the generator — and any other instances added thereafter — did not produce an exception again per game session, and functioned correctly.

Sorry for the late reply. Tried it, but yes, no idea. It is TOOL that does this though; for me it messes up all interface boxes since last update. It's a great TOOL, but it seems you need to take the bad with it.
Since I cannot fathom how to fix this within this mod, I'm going to leave it for now. (which I guess leaves you the same choice as with TOOL).
