Hello!

The new modular furnitures that came with the new GP are very cool but they have a lot of light issues and it was annoying me a lot.

I changed the sofa shaders from phong to counter. The sofas will now be affected by the occluders shadows. Tall objects will produces darker occluders shadows. Altought I think that it´s more realistic it can bother some people. To get rid of it just place one or more artificial light.

ATENTION
It'll override the Maxis Sectional Sofas Model Resources so it'll be incompatible with any other override to that objects.
That is the first time that I do an override so if you find any problem just tell me!

Thank you for this! How did you change the shaders?? Is that done in S4S, or in a 3d modeling program? There are some objects I've wanted to do the same thing to.

You can use S4S or TSR workshop. I don't know if I can place links here but to do it in S4S search by "How to find an object's shader data in Studio", to do it in TSR Workshop search by Material editor.

But be careful. Counter shaders may uses more resources and it doesnt look that good if used in tall objects or wall objects.

Any chance of getting this for the other modular objects in DHD?

I tried the counter shader on the "snap shelves" but it sucks. The shelves have many slots and can be placed higher than a counter, each item placed on any slot will cast an odd shadow on the shelves and this shadow will combine with each other until the shelves became really dark. By now, the best solution is the maxis's choice, the cabinet shaders, + some mod that removes the blue tint like the luumia in NoBlu.
