Once you place it be sure to use the 'changelotzoning hotel' cheat for it to function like a lodging lot...What does this mean? So if I install this lot, it will not place on the grass? Please explain. Thanks.

It's a community lot right now, so if you place it down as is, it won't act like a hotel lot with the check in sim or the maid like you see in Bon Voyage vacation hoods. You need to go into the lot after you place it and bring up the cheat box and type 'changelotzoning hotel' and then save and exit to neighborhood.

Amazing how much your motel lot looks like the "Tradewinds Motel" I made for my island vacation hood. Very nice, I'll give your lot a try in a vacation hood too!

Oh cool! Where is your vacation hood available? I tried googling 'tradewinds motel sims 2' to see pics but nothing showed up. Or was it for a different sims game? I was aiming for a small budget design and made up one from memories of staying in cheap motels as a kid.

Funny you should mention Supernatural because I always loved those funky motel interiors they stayed in and tried to emulate that on a different build in my desert sub hood's motel. I used some of those interesting colorful fences on the inside you get from later EPs.

Actually you are wrong. When I place community lots in the game and the sims go to it, it shows up as hotel. I don't know what you are saying.

Does the concierge sim (check-in sim that provides room service) and hotel maid show up though? They shouldn't unless the lot is zoned as a hotel.

Many hotels I download, you can check in and it shows up as a hotel. Examples, Honeymoon Hotel, Mountain Ridge Inn, Pajestul Hotel. They all work and once you check in, you can get all the rooms you want and then you check in again, and voula, you can sleep in the hotel.

I want to use it as a regular community lot (handy for some romantic/monkey business). So should I remove the "check in" desk? I assume they wouldn't DO anything, as a regular community lot. I will also add some CC parking places that generate random cars. Can Sims make food in their rooms? Guess they can lock their door, to keep out other Sims looking for something to do. Also will add some games, maybe a TV in the "lobby".

@grammapat - Sorry for just only now seeing your question. It doesn't email me when I get comments on my downloads. I think if you just want to use it as a community lot without the cheat you can get rid of the check in desk but I don't think the doors will lock properly. Sims can cook ramen and stuff in their rooms because of the mini fridge and microwave and if you have a mod that fully stocks the mini fridge like a big one I think that would work as well - they just wouldn't be able to make oven-required food. All the renovations sound perfectly fine for what you are aiming to do with it! Thanks
