oh my god THANK YOU for this
its so annoyingly easy to have unintentional celebrity sims in this game, this should help with that a LOT
makes so much more sense for the fame system to work this way!!

Thank you so much for this. I've been turning the celebrity thing off entirely because I was tired of my sim children becoming famous for learning basic skills. Now I can finally have true celebrity sims.

Thank you, I always felt the celebrity status was too easy to obtain and my "poor" sims went from rags to riches way more often than I wanted lol

This is cool! I've always hated sims becoming famous just for having a high level job. Question, if I have celebrities already and install this, will their level change according to the new requirements?

Would it be possible to ask for a more detailed description of the changes?

Like which careers were changed and amount as well as the amount of fame you get from different options.

I can guarantee it will. Here's a brief explanation.
This is an XML tuning mod. It exists "below" NRAAS in the game file hierarchy, which makes changes to the tuning but is a new function.
If you boot up NRAAS with this mod, it will show and use the XML values from my mod as a result.

I love that link to Cathedral vs Parlor modding. That really clarifies the disconnect between various creators. I'm a cathedral modder too. Now I have an identifier .

This is more technical question than regarding mod. I never knew skills gave celebrity points? How does that work?

Essentially, each time you gained a skill point, you gained a set amount of celebrity points.
These points were the same for all skills but increased with each skill level.

Oh I had no idea about that! I don't think I have ever gotten a sim famous from gaining skills before :o

Well I played for a bit with it in, nobody else in the hood gained any fame for silly reasons which is what I wanted. It seems adding this in doesn't make any difference to already established celebrities though. Levels stayed the same but since I don't really care about these sims being famous I might use nraas to get rid of their fame level and see if they get famous again as easily.
