Thank you for doing this mod! I'm delighted that books by Tolkien and Orwell made it onto your list, along with Darwin's The Origin of Species and Dante's Divine Comedy!

Here are many suggestions I would recommend adding in a future update:

1. The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien
2. The Call of Cthulhu by HP Lovecraft
3. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick
4. The Dunwich Horror by HP Lovecraft
5. The Stand by Stephen King
6. The Colour Out of Space by HP Lovecraft
7. The Mist by Stephen King
8. At the Mountains of Madness by HP Lovecraft
9. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
10. Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
11. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
12. The Godfather by Mario Puzo
13. Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice
14. The Richest Man in Babylon by George Samuel Clason
15. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
16. The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
17. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
18. Modern Prophet by Edgar Cayce
19. I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
20. The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris
21. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
22. Harry Potter Books 1-7 by JK Rowling
23. The Complete Memoires of Casanova by Giacomo Casanova
24. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
25. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
26. The Popul Vuh (ancient Mayan tome)
27. The I Ching (ancient Chinese tome)
28. Pinocchio by Carlo Carlodi
29. Animal Farm by George Orwell
30. The Invisible Man by HG Welles
31. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
32. The Neverending Story by Michael Ende
33. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
34. The Princess Bride by William Goldman
35. The Black Company by Glenn Cook
36. Letters from a Stoic by Seneca
37. King Lear by William Shakespeare
38. On the Shortness of Life by Seneca
39. Game of Thrones by George RR Martin
40. The Gunslinger by Stephen King
41. The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss
42. Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
43. Prey by Michael Crichton
44. Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton
45. Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
46. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
47. Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
48. The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury
49. The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle
50. Conan the Barbarian by Robert E Howard
51. The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
52. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

The following aren't real-world-based but would be fun additions. Heck, they could even serve as their own mods, save for maybe the last one:

1. The Necronomicon (Ideally, the Lovecraftian version over the Evil Dead one. Perhaps even a consolidation of the two. Either way, this book would NEED to have a custom cover!)
2. De Vermis Mysteriis (Ditto)
3. Book of Shadows (If we're talking about either Supernatural or The Blair Witch Project. Otherwise, this idea could be based on the real-world neopagan text.)
4. The Total Codex (From Bungie's Myth video game series.)

Thank you... and that was a long list indeed! Actually a few titles you mentioned are in the mod, while a good bunch of others were already planned for an update. I think I can make them work all, even if I would love to figure out how to implement motivational books that boosts your confidence, inspiration, etc. Also, the Harry Potter Books might be an exception as I already created custom covers for them a while ago - that took me a very long time and I opted for more generic covers afterwards. I'll try to include them in the next batch as well.

You're right! I didn't realize that you already included Meditations (I finished reading it recently) and Canterbury Tales until I reviewed your list again. We both have an affinity for long lists!

Anyway, thank you very much! I look forward to seeing what content you include in this new exquisite TS4 library! Especially those HP covers that you mentioned! :D

This is so cool! Thank you!
I'd like to ask if anyone knows a way to "hide" the ones that come with the game, so I would have only these options in my favorite realistic gameplay. That'd be very nice. Thanks in advance.

v2.0 is now out with 200 additional books, including 11 with a customized cover (I'm really bad at graphic design so probably won't make others unless someone helps me). The mod description has been updated with the list of books by genre. Happy reading: time for your Sims to join a Book Club!

How darling and immersive, I am personally thrilled by these (especially The Count of Monte Cristo, Anne of Green Gables, and so many other pieces of classical literature and philosophy that were included!) and hope to have it enhance my museums, libraries, and homes. Thank you kindly, what a fantastic idea and project!

Hi! First, thank you! I also updated some of the initial books (typos etc.), which is why I could not offer a separate update. Each book is in a separate file, so if you want to remove some of the books from your game, just delete the files/books you don't want. Sorry about the inconvenience. :/

Ok So just delete from in game then? That's no problem, I'm always doing that! LOL!

Do you take suggestions? I have some Witchcraft books I'd love my spell casters to have

Thanks for the thanks everyone! A couple answers here:
- I'm ok with recommendations as long as they are based on "real" books. I can't guarantee I'll include all of them, but I'll do my best.
- Might make an exception with magic books based on the Harry Potter series in the future. Probably another mod, as I want this one to be compatible with the base game only.
- I expected a small mod with only 50 books, I'm getting close to 500. Might slow things down a little bit in the future, don't want to end up with 10,000 books to choose from! :D
- I'd love to be able to add my own genres but don't know how to do that. If an experienced modder knows how to do this, please let me know!
- Would also be nice to customize the thoughts when the Sim reads a book... so they don't always think about grilled cheese and llamas.
- I decided to use the "Emotion" genre for works of fiction and keep the "Non-fiction" genre for, well, non-fictions (from biographies to philosophical essays). More on that in the next update.
- And I also tried to add a few more customized covers but I'm not a graphics expert and I work very, very slowly on that.
