Thanks for another fix to one more of EA's messes.

Are there any nuances for the Logic skill built-in already or would that need to be modded?

Overall, this is a cool mod. Thank you!

Agreed, I'd love to see the more modern, logical approach to poker modeled here.
But like... this is already incredible, and I'm so excited to make a poker den with this in place!

Well, I wouldn't call it a mess, they went an extra mile to imitate the real game in great detail. I was impressed, actually.

I haven't found any trace of it if they are. I though about logic skill, but didn't know what to do with it really.

Feel free to suggest how it would work. I'll see if I can do it.

For logic: a Sim with high logic skill would have a higher chance of calling out another Sim's bluff, or catch a Sim cheating.

Full disclosure, I don't have a great understanding of how poker logic works in the sims.

In reality, understanding the logic of the game (and playing a really good game) would mean knowing the odds of a hand, knowing when to get out, and when to double down.

To simplify that down to game logic, I would suggest that when logical sims lose, they should lose fewer simoleons, and when logical sims win, they should win slightly more simoleons.
Logic-based playing should be playing odds, not the other players. I'd expect them to come out on top in the long-run, not have an edge on any particular hand.

(But again, this is fabulous already. No pressure. )

This seems like a useful add-on mod for your new poker player LTW!

Also I very much like both fway's and AlfredAskew's suggestions for throwing Logic skill into the mix - I know zero about playing poker in real life (I didn't know that my Sims were actually playing the game for real, I just thought it was a cycle of pre-set animations), but what they've proposed sounds good to me.

Thank you all for your ideas.

I can make logical sims immune to bluff, this should work. Or rather give them a chance to see through it, right. Now I have it that charismatic sims are kind of immune -- only those that have higher skill can fool them, but it can be changed.

The money thing is a bit iffy. Sims join the table with a §100, then during the game they place bets, and the winner gets the pot at the end of each round in a form of chips. Players acquire chips and get the money worth of them when they leave the table. So, in theory, I could insert money out of thin air, e.g. let logical sims get more chips then there were in the pot, but I'd rather not, even it you won't notice it. It would definitely be the easy way, but I should hate to spoil the realistic aspect. I don't know if I'm willing to commit to doing it the hard realistic way, either. It would require me to be quite logical myself to simulate all the decision making :D
I'll think about it.

Love it! (like all your mods, FIY). My sims have been playing poker quite a lot recently.

The idea I immediately thought of is... What if 10 logic is kind of equal to being able to count cards? But maybe it needs a very "serious" aspect as well (I can't imagine super playful knowledge sims with 10 logic actually doing it). So definitely seeing through bluff and cheating. But indeed the lower levels only have some chance of seeing through it.
