This is a must-have, what's the point of going to the coffee house without getting a cup made like this.

Nice catch! :D
It turns out mod also conflicts with Pescado's Restaurant Bar Fix which adds bladder and energy motive checks before a Sim orders coffee. I think that a bladder check and perhaps a not-so-restrictive energy check would be a nice addition to your mod.
I've also observed that you've removed a part of code which prevents sims from buying coffee when there's no barista at the machine. Was it intended?

Um... nope?!

I'll have a look at the Pescado conflict, thanks for letting me know (I don't use it).

And... I'm not actually a modder...

ETA: I'm a fibber, I do have Pescado's mod. Mine works fine with it - is there a problem with the other things in his mod?

I meant these blocks that are present in the original function:

The point of them is to check if there's a barista at the machine. If is not or if the sim who works as a barista wants to buy a coffee from themself, it returns false.

When your mod loads after Pescado's, then motive and barista checks no longer work. If it loads before, then only the loyalty part works.
I could help you to update your mod if you're having trouble with that.

If you would help, that would be awesome. I had to be led through the making of this and I really don't know what I am doing! It was sheer desparation that drove me to attempt to address this issue in the first place. Contact me on discord, and I'll be a willing learner!

If you have Simler's mod, you only need to download the VA_Simler90_EspressoMachinePatch, yes.

This does not seem to be working for me. I've just tried it on an owned business lot, a bakery/cafe so there's quite a lot of other things going on - sales and a restaurant. However, not a single customer bought an espresso still. Perhaps its not attractive enough compared to the other things on the lot? Could this be changed too? What I found was, when I let my employees have breaks, the employees would be queueing up for a coffee even if the barista was on a break so my business owner had to be the barista to serve them. So it was only the employees who wanted coffee and not the customers. In fact, I think the employees would only queue for a coffee when there was no barista, when the assigned barista employee was working, I don't think I noticed the other employees trying to get coffee, only when there wasn't a barista. Can you help with this @Nopke ? I think it has some great potential and customers not buying coffee has been bothering me for a long time. I use Simler90's Business mod and the compatible version of this mod only.

Have you checked to see if any other mods are conflicting with this one? Eg Pescado's restaurant fix?

Hi, yes the only conflicts I have with the VA_Simler90_EspressoMachinePatch loading after Simler90_BusinessMod-UPDATE39, is that correct?

@VirtualAlex I am loading this mod after Simler's but the effects do not seem to be working. I'm still not experiencing anyone ever buying espresso

To update, I did notice some customers actually buying espresso at a different owned business with less going on (a bookstore/library so you either buy a book/magazine, read books, play chess or order food from WH's Menu Board), the espresso stand is also quite close to the entrance on this lot too. Perhaps its just not attractive enough for the lot I wasn't noticing any difference where the espresso bar was upstairs along with a dining podium and there's lots of cheap things to buy downstairs where the entrance is. I also have a mod that makes customers leave the lot after making a purchase so they won't stick around for coffee after. So yeah, I think this mod is making a positive difference so thank you, I guess the item is just still easily overshadowed by other stuff on the lot. However, I did notice that when customers did buy an espresso, the barista would make two or perhaps it just glitches out so when the customer takes a cup, a cup remains on the counter leaving no room to serve to another customer unless I delete it.

Are you serious? With the default motives in the standard game, patrons do nothing but go between the barista, restaurant podium and a toilet (and weight watchers). You think even higher motives are needed? I don't play owned business much, but the addition of the shopping motive significantly unbalanced these obj on normal lots where the shopping motive still has an effect. What prevents the barista from functioning without this artificial push is that regular visitors arrive with full energy.

This is wonderful! I have a lot of these stations around various community lots and find it very sad that nobody uses them autonomously, I'm really excited to go back to how the game was before EA broke it. Thank you so much for sharing, love it!
