Default The clothes created in SimPE are blurry.
Help me please! I found the lost clothes in SimPE and pulled out the image. I want to try to recreate this lost clothing and return it to the game. I launched BodyShop and found similar clothes with the same mesh. I create clothes and go out of BodyShop. I go to the SavedSims folder and run the .package file using SimPE. I replace the image (1028x1028) with a new one (replace the image of lost clothes) (1028x1028). I save and exit SimPE. I go into The Sims 2 to check on the clothes I was about to return to the game. But the texture of the lost clothes is blurry. I do not know what to do. I don’t understand why it is blurry. please help me!!!!

First of all, make sure you're using 1024x1024, as CAS items won't recognize 1028x1028.

Second, Which kind of item are you making? Is it clothes? Are any other items blurry in your game? It could be your game is suffering from low resolution and is using 512x512 maps instead of 1024x1024. If so, you need to do a graphic fix to make the game properly recoginze your graphic card or chip.

Can you post a picture of the item?

Blurry files in Bodyshop usually happens because it's not recognizing your graphics card, or because it's pulling the wrong textures from your game files. If you've already fixed your GraphicRules and VideoCards files, copy them from Config to CSConfig. If you have no idea what I'm talking about and just want to fix Bodyshop, there's a step by step guide below:

If your game also suffers from low resolution issues, you may want to do an all-in-one fix with the Graphic Rules Maker - fix your game first in the Config folder (your game) then copy the two fixed files over to CSConfig (for Bodyshop).

Excuse me again. Maybe I don’t understand something or am doing it wrong. But the repaints made by me in BodyShop (in the project folder) work well. Clothing textures are not blurry. But when I insert the image through SimPE in the .package file (in SavedSims), the clothes in the game turn out blurry. I have already corrected Graphic Rules. And the clothes created in BodyShop work very well. But when I change the image of clothes in SimPE, it turns out blurry.

Ok, so you meant general blur from Bodyshop/clothes. That's a slightly different problem.

Try DXT5 instead, and make sure to choose "none" for the "sharpen" setting. DXT5 helps with the transparent parts. You could try DDS files, but generally it tends to not give a much better result.

Other than that, this is about as good as it gets. 1024x1024 isn't that big when it comes down to details, and there's no point in making it bigger because clothing overlays skintones (which are 1024x1024) so the game will default to that size anyway.
