QE2. Progress report.

Date Posted: 6th Feb 2009 at 9:11 PM

Whew.. man, it might sound selfish, but i love this already:

As you can see, main work on the ship is almost finished.
Now I need to add lifeboats and then some more details like cranes, pools, and other stuff. And after this, i'll do some UV mapping corrections, texture corrections and then check all the stuff again and after this i'll pull it into game finnaly!
If it will be okay with some RLS issues, the set will be released on sunday or monday night
Oh, and it will contain this ship only. I just can't hold another non-stop modeling week on a second liner

Thank you for waiting and great comments my friends!

QE2. Progress report.

Some current progress:

So even more closer to the chimney
Hope i'll able to make this QE2 in two parts with two texture maps and without a third one.
By the way, at this moment the model has 1126 faces, that is about 2500-3000 polys. I think this is a really nice polycount at this moment.

QE2 in progress.

Date Posted: 3rd Feb 2009 at 11:36 PM

Hello, hello my friends

Last picture shows two open decks where outdoor pools will be placed.
When i've started working on these decks, it took me some time to figure out the way they must be combined. I have some pics of QE2 that was taken in different years (ones from sixties other - contemporary ones) so these decks looks different in time. In these days, there's only one outdoor pool at the back of the ship, allthough there was two in the past I've decided to make a past version with two outdoor pools

Queen Elizabeth 2. TS2 version :)

Okay, as i've said in the comments, i'm in love with the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise liner. So there's no any other ships for me that could be created for this set.
Since i didn't find any 3d models of this ship (actually i did - a model for the Virtual Sailor, but it's impossible to import it in 3dsmax, something wrong with it), i've started from scratch (as always) with a very lack of blueprints (one small picture in very bad quality, huh) and a lot of photos i've found over the net.
And voila, main job on the hull and decks at this moment:

Cruise ship set. Delayed a little.

Date Posted: 2nd Feb 2009 at 8:43 AM

Hello every one!
First of all, thank you very much for the kind comments about the interview! And for those who just had read it - thank you!

Now it's about Cruise ship set. As you may know, i've planned to release it this weekend (i meen, last one, well the one that is over allready) but now i have to say that i need few more days to work on the ship.
It's really hard to find some blueprints or some plans of the ship i want to make. And I want to make at least one ship (actually, i want two different ones) that will look like a Queen Elizabeth 2. Last weekend was too busy and i've searched and searched and the only thing i've find is a bunch of photos... but i still need some plans or blueprints to make a good model of a liner.

Some more pics at the Sims Community Forums.

All that's left is a cruise ship itself.

I've also decided to make this long awning white instead of green.
Some more details still needed to be added to the terminal building.
