I love East of Eden! It's a long read, but it pays off. It's not nearly as well-written as One Hundred Years of Solitude, by the family dynamic is similar.

I was backing up photos off old memory cards, and I found behind-the-scenes pics that I was despairing as lost for several years.

Having the house to myself until 8ish tonight and being able to spend the whole day relaxing

College makes my self-esteem sky-rocket, I love it! I've never had a problem with self-esteem issues, but now I feel incredibly smart, but also I've noticed a lot of guys (including amazingly hot ones) checking me out, so it makes me feel sexy :D

I dived into a pool properly for the first time (I'm always a chicken about diving, I was forced too though in the swimming carnival) and I came 5th in a breaststroke race. Which is pretty good, for me, seeing as it was 50m, and I rarely have swum that far.

^ Well done! I could never dive into a pool. I even hold my nose jumping in from the side! My friends know not to push me in, or I'll kill them.

A boy from my Pompeii class made my day today...it's a shame he's so short compared to me though.

My laptop is working again. At least, for the moment.

Something as simple as watching Pride & Prejudice with a friend. She and I don't get to spend much time alone together (not on purpose, because we're good friends- we just tend to spend more time with a larger group), so it was nice to hang out just the two of us for a change.

Doing my French project during study hall with my friend. I have to pick an athlete from the 2010 Winter Olympics and do a little biography about them. (as I am only a 2nd year French student, this is incredibly difficult). I picked Johnny Weir, and we were having a good time on Google Images looking at pictures of him. xD

His outfits are AMAZING. :D

Knowing that I'll have the house to myself tonight. I'm thinking I'll blast some music, play some sims and watch a movie :D

It was pretty obvious that most of her story was BS considering that the school she kept talking about did not exist in Canada, nor anywhere else for that matter, but I would have felt so bad for suggesting someone was making stuff like that up if it had turned out they weren't. What a waste of four (pathetic) months of her life. I almost wish she'd carried on the full 9 months just to see what she'd have done when people asked for photos of the babies. Still, I'm glad Sophie and Calline called her out on it.

Anywhooooooooo. What made my day today? Nothing yet, But I'm optimistic.

I just found the food my mother packed for me now that I've unpacked, my father announced that I will be taking driving lessons this summer (finally!) and that he thinks it's time to buy me a new laptop, and it's almost exam period which is my favorite time of the academic year (after the first few weeks of a new year). Things are looking good.

I feel like a total nerd for saying this, but understanding Maths, finally, made my day. My dad is a Maths teacher but I didn't really get the "good genes" and I mostly feel like an idiot during Maths.

It makes me chuckle that all the drama in The Teen Club has spread over here :P

What made my day? The weather has cooled down, I have the day off school, and Phoebe's post on my wall on Facebook :D

The fact that it was sunny. After a Midwestern winter, there's nothing as gratifying as a sunny day. Having spent two weeks of every summer and some winters in California, I think that people with a consistently sunny climate don't truly appreciate it the way that others do. Sunny winter and spring days are all the more beautiful for their rarity, here.

I am seriously still laughing whenever I think about it! I need to get a life.

Totally funny maths lesson. Everyone got moved around and it was basically chaos. No one got anything done.

I had opened my window this morning and my ipod shuffle was in that hand and i opened my hand and it dropped out the window. 27 storeys down. I freaked out until there was a knock at my door, my neighbour (and best friend) 5 storeys down had found my blue shuffle on her windowsill. It was only a little scratched up, which was good!

They kept on discussing my other adoptive parents whom I got taken away from, and when I asked about my real parents before they wouldn't say a word of what I didn't already know. But they know everything.

So I laughed at it and I laughed at myself and I went back up to the house and got some chocolate and now I am ok. I hope.

Rescuing a pigeon that fell down our chimney. We called him Claude. He was small and he sat in my dad's hand before taking off into the night. Aww.
