Throw Back Thursday






These are from 2017. At the time I thought it would be fun trying to keep up with the Tumblr crowd by doing lookbook posts. I unearthed these pics ( with many to follow) from my last Windows 8 system that I never know if it is going to turn on or not. I don't play on that system. I use it to keep my birds amused with YouTube videos since we don't have cable or anything like that.

This one sums up my week.

I changed my aging a bit for kids and teens so sometimes depending where the Sims are in their age, it can immediately jump to birthdays. In this particular case, I threw a quick birthday party but when my Sim May aged up into a teen, she no longer had her original hair color. I don't recall that ever happening before. It could be a glitch, it could be a glitch from a mod or possibly a hidden feature. I vaguely remember there was something about the daredevil trait that kids could do that other kids couldn't but maybe not. Anyway, she has the adventurous trait and while it has to do with traveling and exploration concerning WA, I just keep thinking that maybe some traits, if not all, are more than it says it is. Maybe the percentage to see such outcomes are typically low or just rare because of playstyle.

As you can see her eyebrows still reflects her original hair color. I decided to just leave it like that and made it a part of her makeover, lol.


I wonder if anyone else ever experienced that.

She is so cute, oh my gosh. I love those eyes!

@armyangel93 Thank you. Thus far, those eyes have been 100% passed on to all their children, lol.

@Aspersim Try making sure she is fed, having fun, etc before trying to propose. Otherwise, yes, traits and the Sims A.I. do work together so the Sim in question might have her reason(s) for not wanting to proceed any further. I have a neurotic female Sim who had a huge crush on her male friend but she never seemed to tell him. Actually I think he found out when they mind melded and was made aware of how she felt and he became upset when he learned a bit too much. Unfortunately for her I think her friend is not interested in women, or so it seems. Soon after she pretty much stopped calling and visiting him too. The face she made as she left his apartment though....

What was her favorite book she kept re-reading...Not Expecting Much. I know some use mods to prevent Sims from re-reading books but actually I think there could be some insight into it.


I don't know what EP or if the cheat became base game compatible, but there's a way to add any Sim to your household. Bring up the cheat console CTRL Shift C and type in TestingCheatsEnabled True, press enter. Invite the Sim over you want to add to your household (or if you already see them out and about in town) Shift click on the Sim and there's an option that reads: Add to Active Family

You can see how they autonomously interact with each other, especially from her perspective if you want to find out how she really feels. And yeah, the relationship bar doesn't necessarily accurately depict how each Sim feels toward another. Each Sim A.I. is unique and feelings can change too. Some Sims can fall in love and also fall out of love. Or one Sim wants to repair a failing relationship while the other Sim wants to let go and move on. But of course there's a lot more A.I. driven scenarios.

There are even some Sims who are difficult in learning their traits...almost as if they're trying to hide something for whatever reason(s) or just don't want my Sim getting too close.

@Aspersim, you can use Nraas MC to look at traits, while not changing them if you wish... but I wonder if the Sim has Commitment Issues trait as well???

A meteor kills my simself lol and only her. I have to redo my full game now .

1st rule of TS3 (The game known far and wide, to crash and burn, or freeze forever at the most inconvenient moment)... "Save As" OFTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family went to Sunset Valley last week, and my Sim's hubby got hit by a meteor. And quit, restart from last save.

Usually for meteors, which have a bad habit of dropping on my schools (I have this mod), I quickly reset the lot. That shoves everyone out of the rabbit hole they were in and will likely send them home. After that it's just a matter of rebuilding the lot (if I don't have a copy of it in the bin).

By the way, if a meteor hits a rabbit hole, it will kill everyone inside it. I learned that the hard way when a meteor took out every child and teen in the world.

As for the meteor spawners in buydebug, those are the ones that generate collectable meteors on the ground. The deadly ones are the ones that fall from the sky added in Ambitions. Those are triggered randomly and will fall wherever your sim was standing at the time the meteor triggered. When it lands, anyone it hits directly will die and people in the area that don't die will be singed. Items that get hit will be turned into inventing scrap or singed. It then leaves a huge (car sized) meteor in a crater where your sim was standing and scatters a few large and small meteors around. If your sim lives, they can collect the scrap and meteors.

I have just one word to say........... deathflower. A fave Sim was hit and a fave photo of mine is when she whipped out her deathflower saying nananana to grim. :D

And it is correct, that the spawners in buy debug have nothing to do with the ones that fall from the sky.

This looks like the perfect opportunity for a lemonade stand for a sidekick. Draw them in with your tunes, sell them lemonade to make them stay.

Right now, I'm just trying not to obsess to hard over various community lots. I spend way more time decorating/building than I do actually playing. XD

I'm so mad right now. I've spent the past almost 3 hours looking for a handful of saves; they're gone. I've checked and double checked every external hard drive and folder on said hard drives several times and still...nothing. Said saves either went with my old tower and or when my last external hard drive crapped out.

Is it stupid to be mad about some saves with pixel people? Absolutely, but I'm still PO'd...

I liked to keep cowplants as a 'pet' back then. I still put them in my game occasionally, however, they are kept outside in a greenhouse.

Pics are from 2013. I used to spend all my time playing in Bridgeport. I also seemed to have a thing with resolution settings as these pics are square. I didn't bother to "fix" them as it would have made more of a mess than what it would've been worth.

I didn't get any screenshots of this, it was too much of a shock.

I'd been holding a sort of Pleasantview re-union, using this TS3 version: https://pleasantsims.com/sims-3-pleasantview-updated/. I've recreated most of my old Sims2 regulars and moved them in. Don Lothario invited some of them over for his Bachelor party, Where there were some strange things going on.

One of my long serving sims is Gus Baxter. I created him as really buff: a lean, mean fighting machine, you might say. And so he was, when he first arrived at Don's party. I wasn't controlling him at the time, so I wasn't sure how long he stayed, or how much food he ate - there was plenty of it laid on. Anyway, you know how these bachelor/bachelorette parties go on into the small hours, so I decided to switch back to Gus, wherever he'd got to. I found him just coming out of the Bistro with the 'stuffed' moodlet. Stuffed? He was positively inflated! From action hero to Michelin man in the space of a couple of hours! Well, I've had sims with weight problems before, but never like that!

Well, it's the gym for you tomorrow Gus old lad!

@LadySmoks : In fact I have two saves.
One with my story as my simself as private eye, I currently don't play because I installed the hair-dresser mod and I need to redo the Beauty Salon .
The second one I play her as home designer, as crushed by a meteor down ghost now... and believe me no-one will stop me to play my simself hahaha. No one ! I even publish her afterlife as a story in my blog. I take profit I never played ghots before.
That's kinda funny in fact. I accept her fate.

@Tacitala : The meteor stroke the outside of a house, it destroyed the car parked and my simself 's life. All the rests of the sims around were burnt. I had just finished to reorganize a bathroom for a client. She waited for her.
Anyways this saves were cursed since the beggining. At first, when I placed my premade house in town, the lots were empty . It was weird , aliens often abducted her by nights.
We could collect a very big meteor rock and a very small one.

I have played a ghost, a long time ago. If you wish to play it thru... If your Sim is a ghost, max cooking skill, and eat ambrosia will bring her back. Long time since doing that... before I had SN, so not sure if THAT EP will bring her back as a zombie?

Haven't done to my self Sim, but a "master" witch in SN, can resurrect the dead. Again, never tried it... never needed to... and do not know if a Sim can resurrect herself??? And sunshine charm cures zombies... I believe only while they are zombies.

Recent build I finished. Lots were based on Omedapixel's Torsvall, houses are from Fagersim's Enekjaer and the general feel was EA's Aurora Skies (of course) + irl Faroe Islands.

I love Enekjaer. I'm scandinavan so it felt very familiar.
