I'm finding the transition from adult to elder something of a visual shock with my CAS sims. Here's Pierre and Marie Curian as I have been used to seeing them:

And here they are within moments of aging up simultaneously (they do everything together):


Marie's about as expected, but Pierre - agh! 70s flashback! The huge nose I gave him always overshadowed the mustache before, but now it comes into its own. And I may get her some new clothes, but that sweater and striped ascot go so well with the snowy 'fro and mustache (in a 70s theme appropriate way) that I'm keeping them.

And the baby in the crib behind them is theirs, and just turned toddler, so there's not going to be any serene old age for these two. They have a teen son, thank goodness, but he'll be leaving for college in a week. I need to keep their moods up so they don't die before the youngest can get along on his own. If one dies before the other I can move the survivor and child in with their grown daughter, but I fully expect them to go off with the Grim Reaper holding hands. You never saw such a devoted couple in your lives.

Yes, just because your old doesn't mean you have to be grey. Like in RL.

An era has ended. Kitty Hawkins, my baby machine, has aged to elder and is officially retired with a total of nine children, three boys and six girls.

Her husband Goz doesn't quite believe it - he still has the fear of having a baby more often than not. But that doesn't stop him any more than it ever did. The woman's just too hot to leave alone!

Wasn't it nice of the kids to club together and get the old couple a hot tub?



The preceding picture was taken the middle of the day, and their youngest, who is still in elementary school, is walking past the foot of the bed on the way to the bathroom, so there's no fear of her education in important matters being any less thorough than those of her older siblings. Right after this picture was taken Kitty stroked Goz's hair. You can see why she would - it's quite the luxuriant thatch for someone his age (he aged up more than a week before she did). I suppose I could give him a thinner hairstyle, but it's hidden under his hat most of the time anyway, and not losing his hair ties in with the whole Hawkins virility motif.

I am so gonna cry when these two kick the bucket; especially since Goz is more than a week older than her and will go first, leaving her alone (with three girls still at home, one probably moved back in, and the dog, but there's alone and then there's alone) for a long stretch.

I made some elders to create townies and populate the neighborhood.

This has kind of been a sad round of gameplay for me recently. All of my generation two kiddos are either transitioning to elders or joing Grimmy in sim heaven. One of the most recent sims in my legacy to turn into an elder is Shawn Attention...the only male born into generation two.

Shawn has always had a special connection with his cat Bonkers, which him and his wife Aiyanna (also pictured) adopted when their children were young.





And with Bonkers approaching his elder years, and because Shawn really wanted another pet around the house, they welcomed a new kitten, Cymmi...whom Shawn already adores.



For him being the "man" of generation two (and he's the General!) he sure does have a soft spot.
