Somehow, even after we were disqualified from two events and lost another out of five total, the house I'm in came second in Eisteddfod!

On the tennis court, there were two praying mantises mating. We ignored it, but when I came up to volley, I accidentally hit the ball right where they were, knocking them both away from each other (but they both happened to be physically intact afterwards). My opponent quietly commented, "That's what happens when you fornicate."

I didn't even care that I lost that point.

I've planned my weekend (: Party on Friday night, home alone on Saturday night, and a night with my best friend who is visiting on Sunday. Weow :D

Apparently a friend of mine told our beloved literature teacher something that I said. He couldn't believe that I said it because, according to him, I never say anything that isn't "perfectly scholarly" and I'm the "epitome of class." Of course, I heard this all from my friend and it wasn't said directly to me, but it's still a nice compliment. And oh, how wrong he is... I'm scholarly at school, but not with friends .

Well, it was last night, but I went to that dumb Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole movie with friends who read all fifteen of the books when we were younger. It actually wasn't half bad, but it was a hoot and a half... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, bad pun .

I just finished an AWESOME session of off-leash training with my dog Mick and the neighbour's dog, Ellie. Mick is fabulous off-leash, and has been since he was a puppy, Ellie was trained by coercion and leash corrections, both of which are, um, rather difficult when you have no direct control over the dog. Within ten minutes both dogs were following me perfectly; coming when called; doing sits, downs and stays; and paying attention to me, all using nothing more than some know-how about dog movement-language, and rewards. No punishment of any kind, not even a harsh word.

The feeling of moving and communicating with these animals in a way that is completely natural to them is indescribably beautiful, and totally addictive. That they give me their attention and trust freely and by their own choice, when they could just as easily blow me off, I love it. When I tried training with corrections, a long time ago, it was nothing but stress and frustration, I had no idea back then that dog training could be so joyful.

It's my one-year anniversary at MTS. :D

Mick and I ran into a cute little seven-month-old puppy named Maya, and she and Mick had a great run together. Mick is so insanely fit compared to your average city dog. Maya could keep pace with him for the first minute, but then she just kept slowing down, and Mick just kept on running like before.

Ooh, and what will REALLY make my day: Bones is on! :D

I really adore this group of people I'm working with right now on the most important event of the schoolyear. I feel like I've got my own Dumbledore's Army.

All my housemates and I were in bed by 9.30, but I met my best friend in the kitchen for a brief talk about how we no longer do anything exciting and this came out:

A dog owner I've known since Mick was a puppy said to me today, "You know, I think Mick is the most well-behaved, best-trained dog I've ever met." Wow. :3

I had so much fun at the fair. Apparently I love getting flung around repeatedly in metal cages.

I applied for a job at a jewellers close-ish to where I live, just last night - they called me this morning for an interview, so I'm pretty happy about that! I bought a smart dress for the interview itself, so I feel pretty good about myself in time for tomorrow. I don't usually buy dresses either, however this time I found a fit that looks pretty damn good! I found out that I've been invited to a wedding as well; it's been uncertain for over a month now as to whether my name was down on the guest list, but it was confirmed with the bride and groom yesterday. My fiance and I will have a chance to de-stress while we're down there.

The Social Network. Such a good movie. I feel smarter just having seen it :P.
