Turtle Island Project -JOIN OUR MOD GROUP HERE

Turtle Island Project by N8iveSims Mod Group

Welcome! ~porkypine here The N8iveSims Mod Group is a group of creators who will bring American Indian themed content to the Sims 2 Community via the Turtle Island Project. Many of us are American Indian from various tribes, but there are also people from other nations and cultures in our Mod Group. We are truly a international group. Our MOD group is open to any one in the world who has an interest in helping us build content for this HUGE theme. Interested in joining our MOD group? Join today! :D

You don't have to be an expert. You can even be a beginner, but you are expected to learn and turn out your best efforts in this collaborative effort. All items created and published by this Mod group are expected to be as authentic as possible.

Creators are welcome to join our team and make just one item or many. If you do not know how to make items but you have good resources for the project, you may also join this group. You may come or go at will. We realize that people have a real life too. The only thing we ask is that you respect the intent of this group which is to create as authentic as it is possible to make, American Indian stuff for the Sims2 game.

Please realize that any items created by and released under this mod group name will be available for recolors. Any meshes created by this Mod group will be allowed to be included in lot uploads to free sites. If you feel that you do not want to share your items with the broader sims2 community and want to keep personal ownership and control over the items you've made, you may publish them under your own name, not the N8iveSims mod group name.

The Premiere release was 'The Seminole'. Future collaborative projects for the Turtle Island Project may be of any size and for any tribe. Every release will contain items that are specific to any of the tribes from Turtle Island. Mod group members are welcome to work on a specific tribe or region of their choosing and they may release items at will once approved by the Mod group team leaders. All items released in the project will also have the usernames of the individual creators so our downloaders will know who made which item. :D

Thank you for your interest and we welcome all interested people. :D

At this time, the N8iveSims Mod Group team leaders are porkypine and bluetexasbonnie. All questions should be directed to them. N8iveSims is just the Mod Group publishing name.

The actual modding section will be private because we don't want to spill the beans about our publications nor do we want to allow people to download stuff when it's not ready for download. We have to bug check it first.

All people interested in creating stuff please post here with a short listing of your interests and skills and we will get you added to the group.

NOTE: You may make requests here but we require pictures of what you would like for us to create. We do not promise that we can make them or if we do decide to work on something, we do not promise a completion date. It all depends on if we have a creator interested in making your item. We're in this for fun and education. Requests must have good descriptions and images. Requests for non-N8iveSims type items will be promptly deleted.

The team members who worked on the premiere Seminole Release are:

alej_r_b(Pandrito) - Object and hair meshes
alexarosa - clothing recolors
alex_stanton1983 - Tropical plant mesh creator
bluetexasbonnie - Lot maker

I'm in! :D

Cocomama 8th Jan 2009 3:51 PM

I'm very interested in making stuff for American Natives and other nature loving simmies. I know a bit of object meshing and building and how to make clothing meshes, texturing however is not my strongest point.
I would love to participate in projects to further populate Turtle Island!

Deluxe Designs 8th Jan 2009 7:17 PM

Hi there, i would love to get in on this project My current skills in creating are as follows:
*I can build houses and community lots etc. (My work is not very up to date on mts2 and i have been using a LOT of boolprop rescently for different effects and have not had the time, but now i am very good with boolprop and my houses are much more interesting, this would be really useful for this type of project i think )
*I can do recolours of items (I have been doing this for a short time, i only have one upload on this site showing my work but i have had simpe issues rescently so i have not been able to turn anything out, however it is fixed now )
*I have begun basic meshing (The meshes are not brilliant but i can be very creative with what tools i have and i think i could turn out a few good meshes hopefully )

Ok thanks a lot,
DD

AnimalMad 8th Jan 2009 9:40 PM

Hello, i would love to join. I know i have not uploaded, but i do make lots of sims 2 content. I build houses, make sims and all CC associated with them, and i love to recolour. JUst ask if you want to know anything else

N8iveSims 9th Jan 2009 8:26 AM

Welcome! I am having problems with the invitation process for the private mod section. Please gather some ideas together on what kinds of things you'd like to work on so we can discuss the direction we're heading toward.

In the meantime, I am trying to get the original returning Mod team members logged back in and when I figure that out, we can get new members added. Go ahead and post here for now. and thanks for your interest!

Deluxe Designs 9th Jan 2009 10:21 PM

Okay thank you What are you looking for exactly, your first post was so obvious and detailed, but i am specia It is clear what you are looking for i just want to know if there is anything specifically you want making house, recolours, objects, wall or floor -wards?

N8iveSims 10th Jan 2009 6:00 AM

Right now, we are reassembling our group, the we will discuss projcts tasks... OOps! My show just came on! Bye!

bluetexasbonnie 10th Jan 2009 1:45 PM

WooHoo ... I made it in.

I'm so excited about starting up. I've been thinking about the challenge of the next installment ever since we FINALLY managed to get the first one posted.

For those of you who never worked on a big group project ...
It is one of the most exciting and rewarding experience I have ever had as a creator. But it takes a long time from start to finish. I think the first installment took us almost a year.

Deluxe Designs 10th Jan 2009 2:57 PM

Yeah i love group projects too I have done 3 projects, one which was a set of about a dozen large houses based on the Stepford Wives film, another one which was called Orville which was a NH and finally finished one which i am uploading later this week which is a Stuff Pack! :o lol, this is going to be so fun! :D

bluetexasbonnie 10th Jan 2009 3:23 PM

As to what we specifically want made ...
... Well EVERYTHING. The only limit is that it should be reasonably authentic within the confines of the game. No time period limits either -- this is about the Native American heritage -- Past, Present & Future.

We want new objects, recolors of old objects, recolors of new objects, new clothes, new hair, new skins, authentic looking lots (which undoubtedly means new walls & floors). If you look at the first installment, you will find examples of every creative activity possible with the exception of BHAVs -- and it would be so cool if there were some new actions in this phase.

IMO (and this is strictly MY opinion and undoubtedly reflects my bias toward building ) lots are what really showcase the sets and pieces. Of course, you can't make really cool lots without the objects that make it special, and there is no reason for authentic lots without authentic people. It takes all the pieces to make it special.

Deluxe Designs 10th Jan 2009 10:57 PM

Ok well i will get cracking on some walls and floors and put them into some lots as well I will then look at objects and recolours, i unfortunately cannot do BHAVs, i have never tried, and i doubt i will

bluetexasbonnie 11th Jan 2009 12:56 AM

I don't want us to get off on the wrong foot here. Do you have some idea and example pictures of the kind of thing you want to build. Do you know what tribe(s) it derives from?

How about posting some inspiration pictures of the style you are planning at the moment. Part of the joy of the project is the interaction of people to make that vision realizable and the learning of the culture and traditions behind the designs.

N8iveSims 11th Jan 2009 8:23 AM

Hey guys, porky here. Delphy fixed the private mod invite section . I'm going to do a test, then send out invitations to the old mod members first and get them all on board. Then once we've re-activated the original members, we'll set up the private modding area and once that's organized we'll get all the new guys in. Ok? In the meantime, get your ideas together and some resources together of what you'd like to work on. This time around we are not restricting ourselves to a major premier theme so we can 'branch out'.

Anyway, let me get the invitations going, and use porky as a guneapig, then Bonnie, You're in first so we can discuss the layout and such in the management section. At the same time, I'll invite the team into the main area so we can discuss direction, and once that's set up we'll have a beter idea of our direction. ok? :D

So let me make sure it works by inviting porky 1st. :D

porkypine 11th Jan 2009 10:51 AM

Ok. Got the bugs worked out of the set up process and I am working on setting up the project work space and some introductory areas for the team so you guys don't stumble into an empty space. Let me fix it up with a presentation for each section and then we can get the invitations started. give me some time to get some pictures uploaded. that takes time. thanks!

hexameter 11th Jan 2009 1:40 PM

Hi Porkypine and all the others! This time it worked to enter this thread. Like I said more than a year ago I depend on much input of original details because I live in Europe. If you want me to do something in this exciting project simply ask me. I hope to have the skills to help.
For now I'm looking forward to what will happen during the coming weeks.
hexameter

Deluxe Designs 11th Jan 2009 1:49 PM

Groovy I will look for some inspiration now I will post it in the private thread when i am invited to the group

bluetexasbonnie 11th Jan 2009 2:02 PM

Porky -- The invitation process seems to be working!

This is all so exciting.

N8iveSims 11th Jan 2009 2:20 PM

Kewl! I'm glad to have all of you aboard! I've issued invitations to the turtle island project (public) and the Main meeting room(private) and the NeMePoo (Nez Perce) private areas., Bonnie, you also got one for management. I've set up several other threads for tribes that were mentioned the first time around and right now, I'm looking for all my image files. I don't think I got all of them off the old turtle Island thread before it was purged so we may need to find them again. Anyway, everyone Log into the main area of the of the private modding group and get to brainstorming as soon as you get your invites.

I realize that many of you don't have the experience to know authentic stuff from 'Hollywood' but I am here to help. We also have several other people who do know the validity of what they're looking at who can help also.

Let's not start making stuff until we get a chance to get the group together. Let's get our ideas going and then pick the areas we want to work on so we don't all go making a left boot with a hole in the big toe. ok?

Anyway. I'm back to uploading some images.

N8iveSims 11th Jan 2009 2:23 PM

Oh! What you need to do, is up at the top of the page, you'll see Site Links. click on tht and select Social Groups. then you'll see the N8iveSims groups. Click on teh title and then you can see the sub sections of that particular forum thread above. If you have problems navigating around. just ask here and we'll see what we can do.

HugeLunatic 11th Jan 2009 5:03 PM

Hi all! I am tentatively in right now. School overwhelmed me with the High Rollers, so I wasn't able to continue. Planning on taking just a measly 6 credits this semester to keep my student loans from defaulting.

I can build more than cylinders and blocks now too. I am hoping to learn more about BHAV's too. I get mixed results, mostly they crash my game, but sometimes things work. I'm also windows/simpe-less/limited for at least another week.

And I'm also still clueless to authentic Native American, and Google challenged.

Oops! I have already made 3 walls, 3 floors and 2 terrains and put them up for everyone to look at in the private section! lol

porkypine 12th Jan 2009 5:34 AM

that's good. We'll need a variety of and floors and such. but remember, we are trying to make stuff true to type so we need to look at some real examples so they can be released with the right set..

I like that grass texture you found. Can you find a thicker tule texture for Nez Perce tule lodges? :D

Hey Luney! Good to see you back! I'll get you into the production area. No pressure, this is a long term project and we will release mini sets this time along with the occasional big theme. I've learned a lot about meshing when I was in High Rollers too. I will use those skills here. :D

I see that you've been busy making a lot of nice stuff. :D

kopple36 12th Jan 2009 6:35 AM

I'd be happy to help Porky!

ShanOw 12th Jan 2009 6:47 AM

I'd love to join, I haven't got many idea's of what to make, but I suppose I could just take orders I create object meshes and have an obsession with "cleaning" .package files. (Eg removing redundant GMND's, GMDC's, SHPE, TXMT, TXTR, datalist extensions etc.)

I'm sure you can find some use for me.

N8iveSims 12th Jan 2009 7:03 AM

Oh! And I've invited the team members who worked on the High Rollers project here too. They were a fun bunch to work with and I think they'll be an asset to this mod group.

~porkypine

N8iveSims 12th Jan 2009 7:07 AM

They beat me to it! I am still working on sending them all out!

Welcome Kopple and ShanOw! I'll get your invites to the modding section sent out. We're just starting up and have to get the membership signed back up. In the meantime. Look over what little I've manage to set up so far to get ideas and give us some time to get some resource images for you all.

Check your PM's for the invitations to the sub groups. :D

jon119 12th Jan 2009 10:14 AM

Hi,
I want to thank you for the invitation to contribute in this project. I always liked your work and I am fascinated by the culture of native Americans and so it's great that I can help here.
I don't have much time at the moment but I'm sure that I will be able to create some stuff!
As I already know many of you I'm sure that we'll have much fun working together and the results will be great.

lamammaforever 12th Jan 2009 10:49 AM

Hi folks!
Thanks Porkypine for the invitation, accepted with enthusiasm even if, as Jon said, I don't have so much time ...
Hope to contribute with something, just let ideas invade my brain (there's a lot of free space there LOL)
I see many known avatars around (ciao Bonnie )

Little_Tx_Mama 12th Jan 2009 2:47 PM

Hey Porkypine

Thanks for the invite and I would love to be able to help. I've got quite a bit of time on my hands right now and have been trying to decide what to work on next. This is a great project and would love to be able to contribute. I have finally been able to replace the computer that I had lost during the Highrollers project so I think I'm ready to go - just point me in the right direction.

I know little about the native american history but am excited to learn!! I learned alot during our last project, especially about animation, so I hope I can expand that knowledge base here. Just let me know what you need me to do!!

Alisar 12th Jan 2009 3:16 PM

Hey guys! Hi everybody! Guess who enter and signed and joined this group as HighRollers!! Me, of course! Who else? I did not remember I was in as High Roller please Porky delete HighRollers from the members list and be patient I have so many hours to sleep eheheheh
I already told you my little girl's dream was to be a Black Feet warrior beating bad guys with my arch so how could I say no to your syren song
Here I am, Porkypine. You know from High Rollers what I can do I hope I will learn also from all of you! Thank you for the invitation

Hey! Jon! Good to see you here and Welcome!

That's ok if you're busy right now. No time pressure here.. this is a long term project intending to make stuff for several tribes. We have a whole continent of culture to make stuff for. Right now, we need to set up things and decide who is working on what and then once we have the crew together and we all start working on stuff, I need to get cracking on that NezPerce hairstyle for Skye It's the first thing on my mod list. I promised it to her back on the Seminole project and said it would be the first thing I made when we started working on the Nez Perce.

But, first, we need to get some kind of defined shape to this ameoba

You made a very lovely lot for High Rollers and we have some other lot builders here so I may open a thread in the pow-wow section (modern) for casinos and modern houses and such. We'll want to try and make true-to-type casinos for the tribes that have them, then release them for that tribe. It will be nice to use some of the (currently) top secret stuff we made for High Rollers in those casinos! But we'll have to impatiently wait for that huge theme to be release from moderation. I have half a mind to put that hilarious link to the YouTube trailer that kopple made.

Anyway. Welcome! give me a little time to send your invites to the modding section. It's set up differently than the High Rollers theme modding section was cuz we're using Delphy's new forum layout. and to keep down the clutter, I'm only granting access to the main area for everyone and NezPerce for now and will later open up other areas when we have people using them that way the view doesn't get cluttered. Oh. And I am open to suggestions to improve the modding group work area.

Hi mama! Great to have you on board. When High Rollers premiers, they'll see all the lovely and fun stuff our team (High Rollers) made for that project. Like I said to Jon, I'll open a modern lot section here for casinos and modern buildings, etc. like tribal offices, etc. all that kind of modern stuff so you lot makers will have plenty of things to work on.

Right now., we're still getting people on board and I'm admitting all of you and also trying to get the resources together and uploaded. This is a long term project but we will publish little mini sets as we go so you can help out as you have time. :D

We are waiting for the original N8iveSims members to sign back up - I haven't heard from many of them yet and we have some new people who are joining up and you guys that I am coaxing over from High Rollers. We'll have a great team and you never know, because we'll be here for a long time cranking out kewl content, we might have people clammoring at the door to join up and mod with us!

Invites will go out a little later. I'm at lunch and just peeking in right now. Watch your PM's

Hey Lil' tex! Excellent! Welcome aboard! We have a blue tex here too. bluetexasbonnie is kind of co-lead on this team. So if you have any access problems or whatever, you can talk to her if you can't find me.

We're gathering quite a nice talented pool of creators!

I'm at work right now and just peeking in during lunch and between phone calls. (school just started and it's super busy!) so I'll get the invites out all at once. I won't get a full lunch because of all the interruptions

Oh, I was a bit surprised when I read this as I didn't keep casinos in mind when thinking of native Americans...
I made a quick wikipedia research and found out that there are casinos run by Indian tribes (btw, is it politically correct to say 'Indians'? I don't want to be insulting...) which is something absolutely new to me.
Modern buildings sound interesting for me but I'd also be interested in making some traditional quarters, probably also with the aid of some meshes.

Hey Alisar! Welcome aboard! Glad to have you here. I will get the invite sent out all at once when I have some time to contentrate on that. I'm at work and getting no proper lunch or break cuz it's the first day of college and we are SUPER BUSY! ~sheesh~ I am peeking in here now and again between phone calls and walk in customers.

I'm sure we'll find a way to use your talents. This is a long term project so you can work on things as you have time. We have just started to get our forum set u and need to get our resource pictures back online.

I'll get the invites sent out hopefully today or maybe later tonight.

Yes that's fine. Of course, it depends on the circle you're in. the 'politically correct' people say 'native american' or 'american indian' or worse, 'indigenous native american' Most people however, if they don't just say their nation, just say Indian or NDN's, etc. whatever is easy. Most people I know, when they hear that indigenous stuff is to replace it with 'indignant'

The main goal of this mod team is to dispel the myths and misconceptions - that all indian people live on the plains in tipi's with a totem pole and a canoe out front and that there has been no change in society since 1800's and that all indian people are gone or ALL indian people are rich because they have casinos, etc. Yep world, there are all kinds of talented indian people in the out there doctors, lawyers, police, professors, scientists, nurses, mechanics, farmers, cattlemen, politicians, etc. you name it, we got it. However, only a few tribes are really rich from casino profits. Most nations struggle economically and are far from large cities that can support casinos. Tribes like Sho-ban in Fort Hall don't give out big cash per caps to the membership. They only make enough money from casino operations to support the intfrastructure - fund daily stuff on the rez like roads, tribal salaries, the schools, construction, land use, fisheries, housing, detox, snow plows, etc. all that kind of stuff. Once a year as a Christmas present, they give a small percap which varies from year to year to enrolled members. Enough to get a new washing machine or maybe a small tv, etc.

porkypine 12th Jan 2009 10:13 PM

I have to say Reese.. Ain't yer little giraffe getting tired already? Always falling down...

Nohan 14th Jan 2009 11:24 AM

Hi and thank you for inviting me!

I would love to join to be able to learn more.

I don't have much time now...but I will see what I can do.

AnimalMad 14th Jan 2009 5:58 PM

I would love to make Sims, houses and some recolours if that is ok?

skye 14th Jan 2009 7:06 PM

Skye is IN-- right now have some real life issues right now, but will be finishing up Chief Joseph; if someone will do his outfit that will make me happy. I figure he will need a different mesh for his outfit.

porkypine 15th Jan 2009 12:40 AM

Oh yes, we plan on makingthe best representation as possible. I just got a changes needed on our High Rollers theme content that's in moderation so I will be working on that this week.

No hurry. This is a long time project. People can come and go as they have time. We will be releasing mini-themes along with the big theme projects so people can just collaborate on making Chief Joseph for example, one person makes the sim, another makes the hair and someone else does the clothing. We can hold the finished sim to release with the other Nez Perce stuff or it can be published on it's own. That's something that can be disscussed individually.

If you can post a picture of your preferred outfit and hairstyle, then we'll know what you'd like for your sim. Go into the Mod group Main meeting room and find the SIMS thread and post there. :D

Reyn 15th Jan 2009 2:24 AM

Hi guys! Ready for assignments and the like - far warning, I might be a little slow to respond on some days - moved and my computer/craft area is in the garage, which has no heating yet. And its cold here

alej_r_b 15th Jan 2009 2:47 AM

Hi guys!!! It's been a while!!!

I'm willing to help with anything related to images, creating textures, object or clothing recolors, you name it. I can also simpose, so if there is need for it I will help.

But I don't have much time as to create meshes, so I don't think I could help in that area.

porkypine 15th Jan 2009 5:29 AM

Ok guys, head on over to the top secret private modding forum!

Nohan 15th Jan 2009 1:00 PM

Hmm, I was wondering...If I should do a lot with tipis that are rather authentic.
How can I do a kitchen that are playable? Any suggestions on things I can use?

bluetexasbonnie 15th Jan 2009 8:46 PM

Finding the 'right' stuff to use is very difficult. From looking at your lots at Sims Crossing you probably already have a better collection of suitable downloads than most folks. You might also look at the original release -- I'm hoping we can make a bigger collection of 'outdoor rough living' objects.

Nohan 15th Jan 2009 10:28 PM

Thanks...I know it's hard to find things...and it should also fit the simmies.

They need a fridge, and they need a counter etc...

I havent really been able to find a real photo of how they where cooking, but I guess they did it inside the Tipis? Wich the simmies can not...

Hmm, wich original release are you thinking of? Do you mean where I found those Tipis?

Fresh-Prince 15th Jan 2009 10:31 PM

I'd like to join in for the project too

bluetexasbonnie 16th Jan 2009 2:51 AM

Nohan -
I meant the first installment of N8iveSims. I built most of the pre-1990 lots. I hid a stove in the fireplace -- not perfect, or even an authentic fireplace but it at least looked more appropriate than an electric stove. The fridge is just an earthy recolor -- the sunken fridges/root cellar style you used in your Sims Crossing lots was a nice choice. I'm hoping this time that we have enough meshing skills in the group to make more authentic choices.

Fresh Prince -- Catch me while I do a fan-girl swoon. In a few, I'll log in as N8iveSims & get you an invite to the group if Porky hasn't all ready.

Nohan 16th Jan 2009 1:36 PM

Ah, ok bluetexasbonnie...

And thanks! I am looking for inspiration and creative ideas everywhere.

I can not use the Sim Stones things since I am uploading at another site...so I have to find other thingys

bluetexasbonnie 16th Jan 2009 3:42 PM

We were hoping you would also be doing some N8iveSims lots (or other creative activities) here.

Nohan 16th Jan 2009 4:40 PM

I would love to but I have too little time at the moment...I am sorry.

But I am used to look at the policy and I was just thinking ahead and not only for this project

N8iveSims 17th Jan 2009 9:49 PM

Hi ulpukka! Welcome to the team. When you receive your invitation, please look at the sims section. Any of the sims that we will release will be built to look as if they were a member of a specific tribe. We are not in a hurry to push out a bunch of sims, what we want to do is create true-to-type sims you can't find anywhere else. It's a tough job. Thanks for joining. :D

We are still working on getting the forum fixed up so please be patient while we get some 'models' uploaded. :D

Is this the turtle island you mean? http://www.turtlefiji.com/

bluetexasbonnie 24th Jan 2009 5:32 PM

No, this one is more perfect because it also includes Texas.

Quick intro to Turtle Island.

Hey! I thought Texas was it's own country? :D

bluetexasbonnie 25th Jan 2009 3:44 AM

Texas is a state of mind.

Reyn 27th Jan 2009 6:14 PM

Fair warning - until mid february, I'm going to be pretty worthless most days. My wisdom teeth are all severely impacted and I can't get in for surgery until the 6th. And with my age and diabetes, the surgeon does not think it will be fast recovery.

Oh, and there are foxes already done and on mts2 Those are wild too.

porkypine 28th Jan 2009 4:07 AM

Ouch! Take care of yourself. Dental stuff is no fun at all! No hurry to get started. I am just now starting to work on the Nez Perce hairstyle. Even if you aren't working on stuff fast, maybe you have some ideas on what you want to do?

Reyn 30th Jan 2009 7:49 PM

Well, eventually, I want to try again on that canoe. And I'd like to figure out how to make seasons comp. trees to make some trees appropriate for the different regions, and of an appropriate size, since EA failed in that regard.

Otherwise, I'm open to working on whatever is needed that is in my abilities.

porkypine 31st Jan 2009 2:21 AM

Kewl! Plants and the canoe is great!

Here's some plants that we'll want to use on the various lots:
Quaking aspen
Lodgepole pines - check corvidophiles lodgepoels first. We don't want to duplicate stuff already out there.
white pine
yellow pine
Oak trees
Tules
cottonwoods
red cedar (flat fan)
sweet grass
sedge grasses
wild rice
prarie turnips
camas
yamp (wild carrots)
big sage brush
yucca

note: a lot of the flowering bushes overall have white flowers up in the mountain area of Idaho. (see Cascade area on map of Idaho) The open meadows seem majority of yellow flowers. Up close, the small flowers are pretty purples and blues and pinks.

Reyn 4th Feb 2009 7:20 PM

Seems that way around here too - meadows tend to go more golden shades, while hilly areas and heavily forested areas tend towards white or very pale pastels. I'm sure there is a really good reason for it, having to do with attracting bees and other pollencarrying critters.

Reyn 8th Feb 2009 9:00 PM

And I think I'll be laid up a bit longer - I'm thinking of lodging a formal complaint with my genes - my jaw was so delicate and thin, and my tooth so large that my jaw is broke - but I haz a laptop to keep me amused.

bluetexasbonnie 8th Feb 2009 9:48 PM

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

porkypine 9th Feb 2009 2:39 AM

Ouch Reyn! Your jaw broke? That's awful! Please take care of yourself and take calcium supplements.

Reyn 10th Feb 2009 12:33 AM

I am - drinking ensure since can't eat properly, including the calcium chocolate - friday I'll get a plate put in - and after that, i'll just need to be careful with chewy stuff for a few weeks.

Not being able to talk properly for a month and a half is bad for me, or I'd jst stay wired and let it heal naturally.

QBUILDERZ 17th Mar 2009 1:02 AM

If you guys are still looking for help, I can try to pitch in some I am always looking for new things to try!

I can...

Build - I am pretty fluent with CFE techniques including wall reduction methods and know my way around a lot to achieve different effects

Mesh - Basic meshes, but I know enough to get around. I use wings so it might take longer for me to get these out and look decent. I would LIKE to say recolor, but i just get bored too quickly to make them the best I can :P

Make Terrain Maps - I don't know how much use this be be, but it is always good to have it listed just in case :D

N8iveSims 17th Mar 2009 6:50 AM

Great! I've sent you an invitation to join the group. Look things over and pick out something that excites you to do. If you need help or suggestions for 'good' projects, just let us know. There is more that can be done than ever will be done.

porkypine 17th Mar 2009 7:10 PM

Hi Qbuilderz! Welcome aboard.

We are striving for authencity (as much as possible for the Sims2 game that is) so before you go and spend hours on something, please check in with progress reports. we are doing old-fashioned and well as modern stuff. But many of us old-timers (me and others) have been busy trying to recoverand restore missing files for MTS2 since the CHII crash and haven't been working on much stuff lately. I'm around though...:0)

I'm 'supposed' to be working on the Nez perce hairstyle but got sidetracked. (Hair isn't my strongest meshing ability - mainly making decent textures for hair is a !@#$% I flunked finger-painting in kinniegarden. )

Reyn 19th Apr 2009 1:10 AM

I still don't think I've gotten my invite.

N8iveSims 19th Apr 2009 2:07 AM

Reyn --

I just went in and tried to invite you. It says you already have an invitation. It has been a long time since I've seen an invitation, but I think they appear at the very bottom of your profile screen. As I recall, the invitation was easy to overlook.

Bonnie

Nohan 18th Jun 2009 7:40 AM

Heya, how is things going...long time since I looked in here.

I am sure you are doing some great work!

bluetexasbonnie 16th Aug 2009 4:30 PM

Hi Nohan!

Between Sims3, new grand babies, summer vacations and a few illnesses -- our group members have not had much time to work on this project.

For myself, I'm beginning to have a bit more time to sim and am closer to making tipis work. Of course closer, doesn't mean finished ...

aelflaed 23rd Aug 2009 12:39 PM

I'm starting to mesh and looking for some new ideas...stumbled across this group...is it still happening? I'd like to help if so.

bluetexasbonnie 24th Aug 2009 3:24 AM

We're still here. I'm hoping to actually get something (anything?) finished. The heat of the summer seems to sap all my energy. It is so continuously hot this year. We have had over 2 months of most 100+, and no less than 98 F days. No rain. The world is brown and dusty. Even my cactus are sickly.

I'll send you an invite to join the main group. (Might be later tonight, if I have trouble remembering how.)

N8iveSims 24th Aug 2009 3:30 AM

aelflaed & qbuilderz -- I've sent invites to the private group. Hope to see you there soon.

Bonnie

porkypine 18th Jan 2012 7:44 AM

grumble grumble... lo. REINSTALLING TS3 AGAIN!... Darn thing went and ran an update automatically and BROKE the game. Satellite = s.l.o.w. downloads\... meaning I'll be at it (updates) for several days... grumble.. grumble... lol

bluetexasbonnie 19th Jan 2012 6:01 AM

Is that the 1.29 patch, or is there something more recent. (Hesitate to go look, because I don't want to give my game a chance to out fox me.)

porkypine 21st Jan 2012 6:23 AM

Hi Bonnie! Yep 1.29 auto updated on me. I thought I had turned auto updates off. It borked on my mods. I went over my bandwidth allowance so I dragged my computer and use the work internet to download my digital games and get teh updates.

It is now reinstalled today. While I loaded to the house, I have not saved. I haven't played yet and just put my mods into the game. When I loaded the game it, burped out a warning about unauthorized mods in the game/ new Origin..... I'll go offline and see if it still chokes on boot. :0) YIPPEE!

(I have complete backupof good game so I can roll it back instead of reinstalling. ) (...me thinks... lol )

added: Saturday.. Loading the game now... no bounce yet... waiting... waiting... my family is loading... waiting... I wanna feed some very annoying papparazzi's to teh cow plant. mwahahahaha (ebil laughter!) mwahahahaahahhaha!

IT LOADED! Now to set up a paparrazi trap! Mwahahaaha!
