Sextastical make-over: the Peach story *updated*
So we all know that I am still working on peach. Happy to say that the dress is done. But I was looking back, and I wanted to share her transformation since i began her in 2007.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Late 2007: In the beginning, she was a basic maxis-knockoff sim with a dress that was a recolor of Sussi's 1840's dress. It was based off a very grainy and dark picture of peach that appeared on the Smash Dojo, the website dedicated to project updates for Smash Bros Brawl. In the end, it was not even close to the Nintendo design. It was not very good, but I set the basic design that would last until the final version was done. Almost all of the dress was (very badly) photoskinned from many different textures. And you know that little rope on the back of the maxis evening gown? I finally found a use for it. the rope texture became the rope texture i used for the dress. Soon after this version was done, I made 2 recolors, one formal dress, one dress with a leather jacket. BIG fashion no-no. See for yourself: Early 2008: About this time I began messing around with meshing. I read all of the tuts and comprehended maybe 1/3rd of all of them. I had tried a few times unsuccessfully before, but I kept trying, and soon enough produced my first true mesh, King Boo. Dissatisfied with Sussi's mesh (not that it isn't a spectacular mesh, I just needed something different) I decided to do it myself. And so it began. First thing i did was the broach, then the gloves, then the actual body. I added ropes, i added a ring, I made a new lace texture, I redid all of the gold decorations, I totally redid the shape. Nothing was perfect, nor particularly good, as I had not yet learned any advanced meshing techniques. I redid the texture as well, floodfilling most of the top and part of the bottom. (Please note that the dress seen in the picture has a different mesh than described here because I have since updated the shape. It used to be much rounder.) I also began bump-mapping the entire dress. Spring 2008: Here is when I really began to work on the dress a lot. I made about a dozen recolors (some pictured further down) and updated the texture a bit. I added bracelets as well. Summer 2008: Here I began to work heavily on the crown and earrings. I went through several incarnations of the crown before I settled on one. Fall 2008: About this time my activity slacked as I began work on the Super Mario Stuff Pack Project, and ol' Peach was relegated to the sim bin for quite some time. Early Spring 2009: About this time I began working on Peach again in relative silence. I dropped her in a few pictures, but not too much at all. I totally redid the dress texture from the ground up, cleaning it up and making most of my own textures by hand this time. I learned a lot and was able to significantly up the ante on the mesh and texture alike. I re-shaped the bustle to give it more definition and I redid the gloves. All textures were replaced and fixed. Mid-Spring 2009: Here I added an entirely new mesh, one with a parasol. It basically paralyzes the sim's left arm in place holding the parasol. This is the final version of the dress and my favorite version. It will still be available without parasol though. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Final Progression: _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- That Odd Pocket: Yes, yes, laugh as you may, this dress has a pocket. No, seriously. It was inspired by this picture: Maybe that's where she keeps Toad, a frying pan, a golf club, and a tennis racket in Super Smash Bros. :D _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Recolor Progression: Warning: The older recolor versions may actually hurt your eyes if you have a bright screen; and no, I'm NOT joking. These are the best and most dramatic changes to the texture i have seen. Here's the progression of the wedding dress's recolor since it's conception: And the green dress's: And the purple dress's (this one is quite dramatic): And the Daisy recolor: _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- So there you have it. i still have many other recolors not shown, so surprises will still abound. I have to redo the hair from scratch, then it should be done! hope you enjoyed this little trip into my world, now get out. *banishes you all* ~Raps |

I think she looks perfect. I do like the lighter pink around her hips, I think.
