The Scarily Obsessive Fangirl/Fanboy Tell-All Thread

The Scarily Obsessive Fangirl/Fanboy Tell-All Thread
Uh, yeah. It’s a long, title, yes?

What are the most scarily-obsessive-fangirl/fanboy things you’ve done in your life? This is for any character or celebrities… videogame characters, book characters, anime characters, manga characters, TV show’s characters, radio drama characters, actors and actresses, music artists… any character, or person, basically.

Mine? I guess, it’s probably setting my iPod to Norsk (Norwegian) language and time, and attempting to learn Norsk so that I can speak like Toki Wartoth from “Metalocalypse”, rhythm guitarist of Dethklok, and see what time it is in his homeland. (I’ve completely forgotten he doesn’t actually exist at this point). Oh, and speaking with his Norwegian accent in real life, and planning to cosplay (characters roleplay) as him, and trying to get a Flying V guitar and learning how to play it. Oh, and don’t forget growing my hair out so I can have the same hairstyle as he does… I’m a girl btw.

… Now I’m scared of myself. Good job, me. (See, another thing, I talk to myself.)

Jaylo 6th Apr 2010 12:35 AM

lol. I think everyone talks to themselves (I hope)

most fan girl thing I've ever done is probably draw a lighting bolt on my brother's head, give him glasses (all in his sleep) make a magic wand, learn nordic Runes, make a notebook dedicated to Harry Potter spells and make a seperate notebook about magical creatures.

Kailacat 6th Apr 2010 12:49 AM

^haha what did he do when he woke up?

One day I completely forgot Harry Potter wasn't real. When people disrespected him, I'd say, "Hey, how do you think Harry Potter would feel if he can hear you?" And I thought he could run for President when he was older because everyone knew who he was, when I thought, "Oh yeah, he lives in England doesn't he?" And then I thought, "Wait a second. Harry Potter is not real!" I completely believed he was before! It was kind of depressing though.

DigitalSympathies 6th Apr 2010 1:14 AM

This is more of a computer fangirl moment.

Last night I was making a list of things I need before school tomorrow and I kept wondering if my pen would run out of batteries. Then I wondered if my paper would suddenly start going slower and run out of harddrive space. No word of a lie, I scared even myself.

I also scared myself when I realised that paper wasn't infinite and you had to grab a new piece every now and then. O.O

XXDeidaraXX 6th Apr 2010 1:53 AM

Hm... I've done a few strange things...

For my obsession/love for Adam Lambert, I made an account on some music site just to promote Adam, I dressed up like Adam for Halloween when my friend forced me to go out (The girl version of Adam. Lolz), I'm painting my room Cobalt Blue which is the shade of blue that Adam usually has in his hair, I attempted to glue silver spikes on the shoulders of one of my jackets like Adam does a lot (Sadly, my Mom came in and told me I couldn't), I write numerous Adam fanfictions, and other things, most of my screennames/avatars are Adam, and other things. Lolz.

Jaylo 6th Apr 2010 3:35 AM

@ Kaliakat (and anyone who wants to know): When my brother woke up he was soooo so so so mad. He was LIVID. But, I did it while a friend was over (a fellow HP nerd) so he couldn't get as mad at me as if I was alone, but he was still really mad. I kinda wish he had laughed and cast a spell, but he kinda did. He chased me and my friend with a stick while cursing us both in magic and in words. It was actually kinda funny thinking back to it...

Wartooth 6th Apr 2010 7:20 AM

I started to eating fish, because I saw a young Toki Wartooth in a scene with fish in one episode of Metalocalypse (I think it was season 2's "Dethdad"). Jeg elsker fisk, fisk er herlig. Jeg synes fisk smaker godt.*

Oh, and I marked his height (and the height of the other members of Dethklok) on my bedroom door, so I can compare myself to his height and see how much taller I have to get to be the same or similar height, and then be able to therefore cosplay normally without wearing platform boots, walking on stilts, or looking like a "fun size" (aka miniature) version.

...I'm probably not going to get to that height though, which actually (unfrotuntely) makes me feel sad and depressed.

*Translation: I love fish, fish is wonderful. I think fish tastes good.

Beata125 6th Apr 2010 12:24 PM

i once put on makeup and dressed as close as possible to marilyn manson.
I put on white facepaint, red lipstick smudged around my lips, etc. and danced around my room
listening to one of his songs mouthing the words pretending to be him onstage. That was weird.
And I remember being addicted to the sims 2 and then the sims 3. I used to play up to 8/9 hours a day.

candiiee 6th Apr 2010 3:36 PM

I tried to read all the Lemony Snicket books in one day when I was about eleven. I got halfway through the third before I got bored and went on TS2.

Elena Swan 6th Apr 2010 5:43 PM

Well, in class we had to write our adress. I sat in front of him and I saw he was writing a name. (He lives in a street with the name of someone important)
But I read it upside down!! I couldn't understand all the sentence! I passed 4 searching with my grandma where can he live. We searched everywhere and we find it! ^.^

P.D.: Don't tell that I'm a stalker, please...

DigitalSympathies 6th Apr 2010 8:08 PM

I play TS2 13-14 hours a day (boot it up in the morning and play on and off), 10 moviemaking and testing and waiting for it to damn well load, and 3-4 just goofing off.

EDIT:

Loading - 5 hours (don't ask, really!)
Moviemaking - 3 hours
Testing - 2 hours
Goofing off - 2 hours
Saving, lagging, and misc. - 2 hours

oscarzoa 7th Apr 2010 1:09 AM

Mine was when on April Fools Day the teachers said Taylor Lautner was coming to the school (Don't ask *Facepalm*) And I screamed (Don't read this if you're not a fan of Taylor Lautner -_-), and ran out of the class to the gym >_< It was cruel but funny when they said it was an April Fools joke! xD

supaclova 7th Apr 2010 2:22 AM

^LMAO

I have a Twilight purse, and about 20 t-shirts.

And my binder is filled with pictures of bands/people/movies I'm obsessed with: Paramore, Cirque du Freak, Twilight, Evanescence, Lady Gaga, and more.

Oh, and Dei: My friend is absolutely insanely obsessed with Adam Lambert as well. You should see her binder. Every inch is covered by a picture of him. Inside, and out.

Ha Ha!
On april fools day this year they said that ( i got to a stict-ish school)
"Bobby Pins* are now classed as jewlerry, therefore no longer allowed.
We have also found that hair is too distracting in class, and all girls are required to get a bob cut."
Everyone thought it was for real.
Bobby pins are like the god of all hair stuff here. they used to be a necessity, no you try and stick as many in as possible.

*Bobby pins = hair slides

DigitalSympathies 7th Apr 2010 2:53 AM

^ At my new school, everyone has to wear their hair in braids, or, if it's short, in a bob-cut, so don't feet bad. The guys get buzz cuts AT SCHOOL.

My not-so-recent scary moment was when I saw a wolf during a walk when I was camping in Kamloops, and this little girl screamed "Come back, Jacob!" and I looked and it was my sister.

She's nuts for T******t.

I think I would love that binder. Inside of it too? LOVE

LOL! this april fools day, my science teacher wrote on the board in caps POP QUIZ! then under neath wrote:
get out a blank sheet of line
put name and date at top
number:
-multiple choice 1-500
-short answer 1-100
-essay 1-50
wait for further instructions
double check the date

I was halfway through the multiple choice numbers when I realised that it was a joke :D

back on topic...

one day me and by Taylor Lautner obsessed friend wrote the song Taylor Swift would (probably) write about him. the chorus went:
la la la la la you have pecs la la la la la
i'm so old! and your so bold! It makes me happy to be a cougar
la la la la la you have pecs la la la la la...

i think I'l stop now...

fthomas 9th Apr 2010 3:24 PM

Aah, all these are lol-ilicous, XD.

DigitalSympathies Lol! My sims 2 takes 30-40minutes to load, but used to take about 5minutes, since downloading the time has grown rapidly. It sucks. But the game is so much more better with custom content...D:
oscarzoa ahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa, what did everyone in your class do? :P

I actually spend more time downloading stuff for the Sims 2 than actually playing it :P. Downloading is just far more interesting...and posting of course .

Wartooth 9th Apr 2010 6:16 PM

^Yeah, me too. I like creating also. It's lots of fun. That's the only reason I play Sims 2 now. so i can create. I don't even really care about playing the game so much as going in, taking screneshots, going back out.

feefifofum 13th Apr 2010 6:16 PM

I don't think I've done anything hugely fangirly or out of the fangirl norm. My fangirliness is usually artistic (drawing or searching DeviantArt...but I don't draw anything filthy!) or just involves me searching the Internet for anything subject-of-fandom-related. Oh, and my subconscious is kinda fangirly. A lot of my dreams have something to do with Danny Elfman. Usually young Danny.
I mean, come ON:
http://www.forbiddenzonethemovie.com/images/fant_02.jpg
AHH so good!

Zinthos 13th Apr 2010 6:39 PM

I'm one of the Clopin fangirls. Yes, those nutters than run around following fictional murderous gypsies with love hearts for eyes.

I have a lot of fangirl moments for other stuff though. When I was younger, like 8, I used to think The Artful Dodger was the coolest guy ever. Even though I only just learnt a few weeks ago that he was an alcoholic teen when that film was shot, but he looks 9 at the most.
I have obsessions with making YouTube videos and then either not finishing them or never uploading them.
I kiss the picture of David Tennant in my Doctor Who poster, and I talk to him.
I sit up whenever Iain from CBBC comes on TV, and I think my mum noticed today, as she gave me a funny look.
I watch anything with Russell Howard in, as long as it isn't a show that I really hate.
I have A LOT of daydreams, but I never dream when I sleep. My daydreams always end up with me in a Disney film, just about to have Clopin exclaim that he loves me when I wake up. They usually start with wrestling, however. Hmmmm...

minus. 13th Apr 2010 11:12 PM

Umm, yeah. This year I started to actually make an effort in learning French. The reason? When/if I meet Ben, I want to be able to talk with him in his mother tongue.

They should join forces. The hotness rating on that show would go so through the roof that all the girls in Britain would simultaneously swoon, causing the Earth's axis to shift and for is all to die slowly as we are roasted whilst the Earth plummits into the sun due to having lost it's gravitational field, but somehow still keeping the atmosphere.

EvilOverlord 15th Apr 2010 7:26 AM

Staying up late to watch my favourite TV show is about the extent of my fangirliness
