WTF Moments

We all know you've had them. Be it the new youtube layout or during free will mode on the sims, share your "WTF?!" moments on here!

Mine was today, looking up sims 2 content sites. I needed this locker set that I know isn't on here or TSR, so I went hunting and this was the description for MTS:

"Mod the Sims 2 has a forum setup that allows any gamer who belongs to the forum to upload wallpaper. There is a varying quality of wallpaper to download, much of it excellent and creative."

WTF?!

^ Someone may have edited the wiki, maybe?

My most recent one was when I was walking down the street, minding my own business, and a guy on a bike went past me. Only, there was a plank of wood on the back of the bike (like where a person would be if they were getting a ride) and someone stood on the plank of wood. I was just like "WTF?? Is gravity having a day off, or what?!"

My WTF moment today is when we were given Tw*light to read in English class because of it's 'deep social, personal, imaginative and overall down-to-earth-ness.'

Then we were given an assignment on describing Bella, the main character. I wrote it all on Bella Goth of Pleasantview. :P

I win. :D

-On the Yes or No game, someone asked "Have you ever had a lime popsicle?" and I had a serious WTF moment when I discovered that some people haven't had lime popsicles.

-I live in a town where people have driven lawnmowers to school. WTF.

-Facebook layouts. They haven't changed in the last few weeks, but they change all the time. By the time I get used to the new layout, they change it again. WTF.

That's all for now.

LOL.

My WTF moment happened just a few hours ago, when I hopped into the shower after some fencing practice. I didn't want to get my hair wet, since I washed it this morning and still had homework. I found one of those shower cap thingies they give you at fancy hotels and put it on. I started showering, going on with my usual routine. I then went to wash my hair, like I always do. I was a good half way through conditioning when I realized that I was actually washing the cap and not my hair.

This morning, in science, as a class, we successfully got our teacher off track by asking about water and hydrogen peroxide or something. Then he got even further off track somehow, and lectured us for nearly two hours on stable molecules and the importance of knowing what they are. Which, according to one of the other science teachers, is apparently year 10/11 work. We're year 7's.

kustirider2 21st Apr 2010 7:13 PM

^ I'm right at the end of year 11, and I still don't understand molecules/stable atoms. They didn't come up in my exams, so I guess I'm lucky :p

Zela 21st Apr 2010 7:57 PM

Unstable atoms: An atom is most stable when its rings are filled up. The rings contain electrons. The first ring contain up to 2 electrons, the next ring 8 electrons. A atom with, lets say, 3 electrons isn't very stable. To make it stable, you must add/share 7 electrons to make a full outer ring. An element has 1 or more isotopes that contain unstable nuclei are subject to radioactive decay (meaning the nucleus emits particles and/or electromagnetic radiation. Most common forms of radioactive decay are Alpha, Beta and Gamma.
Unstable Molecules: A molecule is a stable system consisting of two or more atoms. An unstable molecule is used for reactive stuff (...) i.e short lived groups of electrons and nuclei.
Aren't unstable molecules something from Marvel comics...?

I went WTF?!?! (in my mind) at my chemistry lesson today. There were only 11 of us 'cause the rest were at a geography exam, so we went onto the field and launched a tennis ball, several times, through a rocket our teacher made. Best. Lesson. Ever.

EDIT: I better explain the first bit. I'm not a complete geek, it is just we have JUST been taught about this. We are the geek class, so...

kustirider2 21st Apr 2010 8:15 PM

^ I understand just about that much, lol. It's quite a hard subject, but when you get your head around it, it's okay Then you've got to learn all about the covalent bonding of atoms, which Is where I really struggled. I totally suck at chem though, Astronomy is my thing

Zela 21st Apr 2010 8:28 PM

I actually get covalent bonding of atoms. Chemistry, is my subject. I find biology easier, but I seem to get higher in chemistry. But saying that, I am what people in England call a Boffin. I'm top in everything and trust me, I feel the stress. (We should have a school/learning and homework thread... or do we already?)

I went WTF?!?! when our German teachers started, randomly, talking fluent German to us. Everyone was like

DigitalSympathies 21st Apr 2010 8:26 PM

^ We're onto asexual reproduction right now, but I DID ace all that hooplah back in Ontario. Although, I still don't get how math and science are relevant to one another . . .

My WTF moment today was when I was in a computer store today and I overheard someone asking if the computers were IBM-compatible.

O.o

Ah, yeah. I get my fair share of that too I just keep thinking "Hey, I may get called a boff now, but in 10 years, I'll have an amazing job while those low-lives will be working in tescos" (No offence to anyone who works there )

Maths and science are completely relevant to each other. Physics is ALL equations

Zela 21st Apr 2010 8:48 PM

(We really should create a school and homework thread so everyone can help everyone else. Or is there already one...?)

lol, I went WTF?!?! when my Mum was reading my monologue for english and I had made so many weird mistakes, like I put 'to the get groceries'. I'm so silly sometimes.

Today my class watched the birthing scene in the "Miracle of Life" video. (a video where they record a couple having a child) Enough said.

kustirider2 21st Apr 2010 10:10 PM

^ I remember watching something similar when I was in year 7. Obviously back then we didn't really know what sexual reproduction was, and we were pretty immature so everyone just laughed the whole way through!

fthomas 21st Apr 2010 10:13 PM

^ Same

Beata125 22nd Apr 2010 6:34 PM

^we watched one in year 7, and another about a month ago :o

Correction: They changed again. WTF.

My wtf moment was when my friend dyed my hair, and got her hair dye mixed up with mine. It wouldn't have been so bad, except mine was dark brown and hers was purple. And it'll be in for the next 6 weeks. O.O

Jaylo 23rd Apr 2010 1:03 AM

TODAY'S WTF MOMENT!
so I play volleyball for my school. When it was my turn to serve, my teammate threw me the ball and it hit my nose. I then got in a huge sneezing fit (21 times in a row) BUT was able to hold my breath long enough to make my serve and totally caught the other team off guard and got the winning point! they were like WTF? and my team was like WTF! and I was like *ACHOO!* My dad was there, he recorded it, and when he showed me I was like WTF.

in a totally unrelated incident, a senior ran up to me (from behind) gave me a huge hug then said, "oh wait.. I don't think I know you..."
but he was pretty cute so I was fine with it.

DigitalSympathies 23rd Apr 2010 1:16 AM

^ AHAHAHAHA!

WTF Moment no. 4: We get to watch The Miracle Of Life on Monday. I asked my teacher if it was the one kustirider mentioned and she looked at me like "O.o"

Jaylo 23rd Apr 2010 1:27 AM

AAAHHHHH!!!!!
your going to love it!
really inspirational
no, seriously, someone in my class had to go to the bathroom it was so gross. But they had a pretty weak stomach so they might've just wimped out. then, my teachers recorded our faces during the birth scene and played it to us at the end of the year. Hillarious

XXDeidaraXX 23rd Apr 2010 4:22 AM

Today at lunch my friend appeared and attacked me with a hug from behind. She scared the hell outta me, so I screamed "RAPEE!" and jumped behind Nick. Then someone from somewhere yelled "Girl on girl!" and me and my friends are all just like WTF? XD

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

WTF moment!

so today I had do to a choral test for my teacher. during the test, one of the tenors started saying how the base was singing better than the teacher. They then had a huge conversation in which the base turned out to be the other tenor's father, My choral teacher was a goat's uncle, and the tenor was the base's worst nightmare. the whole time me, the altos and the sopranos were just like WTF?

and my chorus teacher did an extremely silly dance on top of his conductor's stand. We were all like LOLKWTF
