Just wondering, are inactive sims skills affected? I often switch households.

My computer is going to hate me for downloading another mod, but I just can't resist this...I calculated that it would take a sim 11 to 41 days to lose a skill level (about 17 days if it would be a constant 0.25 value), does that sound correct or am I calculating this wrong?

by the way, I'ld love to help you translate this to dutch, so a small question about that: So I have to translate everything in the related stringtable, but do I have to do anything with the key (or anything else in general)?

Inactive Sims should not be affected by the skill decay.

Yes, by default it will typically take around two weeks for a Sim to lose one full skill level.

You can find a reference on translation here.

All you have to do is translate all of the entries in the DUT_NL STBL resource. You do not need to do anything with the UnhashedKeys resource; those are for your reference to know when certain translated keys may appear. Do not change any of the hashed key values in the STBL files, or the translation will break.

Here's the dutch translation for the mod.
The file contains
The version with only the dutch translation
The version with both the french and dutch translation

Some things I noticed while testing the mod in game:
Higher level skills seem impossible to maintain as sims seem to make absolutely no progress while using the skill (I'ld say at about skill level 7)
The mod shortly freezes the game (5-15 seconds) about 3-4 times per sim hour at xx:10 , xx:25, xx:40 and xx:55 (probably depending on the amount of sims and their skills, I have 6 sims who all have about 10-14 different skills not counting hidden skills)
There is an ingame menu seemingly to change the percentage values, but it is not functional (I know you can use the tuning file for that, so it's not really an issue)

The mod is great fun, even though my sims are losing skills constantly and can't progress in their careers due to the higher level skills not progressing anymore XD So I guess I'll have to be a bit more friendly for my sims and tune the values a little bit. Great job on the mod!

Thank you for the translations. I was worried about the rate of decay at high levels; I might lower the default values a bit in a future release.

I can do some tricks to try and optimize performance, but what do you mean by "the ingame menu is not functional"? It's worked fine in my testing. Have you tried using an absurdly large value of decay to make sure?

I couldn't type anything in the value boxes, but in that case I assume it must have been a problem in my game. I'll test it again to see if it continues.

So far the update does seem to get rid of most of the freezes for me I can't change the values in game, though. The boxes won't allow me to type a "." on my azerty keyboard.

That was an oversight on my part; I'll get that patched as soon as I can.
