Hmmmm, all of my patterns and terrains here on MTS have been made with GIMP, so I'd take up a lot of space showing them all. Please don't think I'm plugging my work, just showing the different kinds of things you can do:

I made my avatar (basically just screencaps with writing on - VERY simple to make) and I draw pictures on GIMP.
My mouse is amazing, as it has the exact right speed and sensitivity for the way I like to draw.
And you know those Gaga/Disney pictures? They were quick 10 minute monstrosities from GIMP. Colour shit in, then change the layer opacity and change the hue, basically.
